I think Terry Gordy was a GREAT heel and was NOT underrated. Do you REMEMBER his pile driver, used to "injure people" ? Then he went to Japan and returned with the SPIKE... I thumb to the throat. I hated Gordy but [spoiler alert] in THIS match... Kevin "Big Sexy" Nash and The "Last Ride" Undertaker... THAT move is what Gordy used to FINISH HIM long before anyone every HEARD of Nash or The Undertaker... Gordy was just before his time. His only flaw... he was not good on the mic. Just my opinion...

@@ptdennis1906 He had other flaws . He was a hard drinker and it effected his reliability , he had to do things to excess including drugs , he was a great throwback wrestler but that was not selling tickets , and he was often overweight . I liked Gordy but The Freebirds had run their course and he kept returning to it out of loyalty to Michael Hayes who needed him a hell of a lot more than he was needed by the other two .... Buddy Roberts was as solid a performer as Gordy but he did not have the physical presence . Buddy sold as many tickets as a singles wrestler as he did in The Freebird ...He and King Parsons were selling out towns with no Von Erich on the card . Smaller towns true but he was over for being a heat magnet

@@MrSniperfox29: It’s not an insult. Many, if not, all of the talent in many of the Regional territories of professional wrestling back before Vince McMahan decided to do a takeover were the pioneers of what wrestling is today. A good example was The Road Warriors. These guys were popular within The NWA and The AWA in the early 80s. Then a couple of years later, WWF made Demolition. I called them FATolition. Anyway you call them, they were Brand-X of pro wrestling. And it was always like that. Anytime the NWA/WCW made a story or a new niche where it became popular within the masses, WWF would follow along with it.

Hayes had a habit of misusing words showing he wasn't as worldly as he'd have you believe . Example In the opening interview that most teams are " compromised " by two members when he meant that most teams arecomprised of two members .

I had the privilege of being an employee of my hometown coliseum back in the day. One of the best parts of the job was when wrestling came . I had the honor of meeting and chilling with just about every big name you can imagine from the 80s and 90s . Terry Gordy even dedicated a forearm crush to Kerry Von Erics chest to me during one of their matches . Years later i took my then 3 year old daughter to the matches . Although i was not an employee anymore i still knew some folks and they let me take her backstage to see her favorite BIG SHOW . after a few minutes of guys like Dusty Rhodes and Jerry lawler rubbing her head BIG SHOW and Jim Neidhart came out of the back . She freaked out and started screaming DAD , its BITCHO ITS BITCHO !!! He looked a bit annoyed and reached WAAAAY DOWN and slowly picked her WAAAAY up to his face and said in that deep as hell voice ... BIG SHOW . She was all excited about getting picked up by Big Show . He best part though was when Neidhart looked at him and said “bitcho“ lol. I wonder how long he kept that name behind the scenes .

I had given up on wrestling. Then cable TV came to town and I decided to watch GCW. It was like a breath of fresh air after suffering through the decline of Detroit's Big Time Wrestling promotion, where the major star was as old as my grandfather, and the other "stars" were a bunch of has been's ...washed up athletes from other sports, and neophyte bums who had no business being in the ring. Enter Michael Hayes and the Freebirds. Finally some wrestling stars that a long haired weed smoking beer drinking girl chasing 18 year old could relate to, as well as a GREAT ring announcer, wrestlers that looked and wrestled like real athletes, and good angles and storylines that kept me interested. Solie was closely tied to Eddie Graham and influential in the development of his television programs. When Ann Gunkel split from the Georgia promotion and started her own group, she took almost everyone, including announcer Ed Capral. Graham, being a part owner of the Georgia promotion, brought Solie in to Atlanta because his credibility would help solidify the NWA position, and Solie ended up sticking around for years afterward. His work for other promotions came about mostly in the mid-to-late 1980s when the business changed dramatically and promoters were looking for a certain presentation on television, which as helped by Solie's credibility and reputation.

Those the tallest ropes I've ever seen on a wrestling ring. Buddy Roberts looked like Lord Littlebrook standing on the apron waiting for the tag.

If you havent yet. Check out UFC, with ,social media, KZfaq, etc. It's like 80s Pro Wrestling but it's real fighting. Fighters cut promos now and trash talk each other on social media. It's the ultimate entertainment/sport now.

It makes me think that jobbers are just low paid "dick-jackin" toys for the heels to use in the ring...jobbing dick jackers? hmm, seems about right, paid a few bucks to be beaten-up while being inconspicuously roughly dry-humped on by cocky, horned-up, mean, bully-like heels...
