👍👍👍 Good Morning Jess .. Another good one 😊. I see that you still have a Winter Landscape there, your side of the Pond .. beautiful. Here, in Switzerland, up against the Rhine, long gone .. just rain at the moment. Me normally, I would be right now, out on my Morning Nordic Walk .. but .. it's raining (which is not a problem, as long there is no appreciable wind) and I'm coming down with a sore throat and am a bit 'chesty' 😖. So, am still under the covers .. it's only getting light now (our clocks moved forward an hour this past weekend into Summer Time). An insulated mug of strong unsweetened black within reach (a pinch of salt therein to remove the 'bitter'), all else still asleep, including the little Malti-Poo tucked up close against my ribcage, watching one of my favourite KZfaqrs on the Tablet and passing Comment 🙄 aka 'Useless Information' thereon 😏. One can think of worse 😁. Nice reminder regarding the use of natural materials as Shelter Supports 👍. That's were the Plash comes in handy .. not easily 'offended' by rough bark(ing) and such 😊. I see that, inter alia, the Savotta Pack and Jääkäripuukko are doing good service (I love mine .. excellent gear). Thanks for sharing, my Friend .. and until next time, take care ..

Hey Tommy! Man, sorry to hear you aren’t feeling 100% We got hit with something a few months back that was pretty brutal. I didn’t eat for a week, lost about 20lbs, but the fasting cleaned it out, whatever it was. I have heard food grade hydrogen peroxide can be really helpful as well. Has to be food grade. All the very best my friend. 🤝

Hey Alex! That’s a bummer. I was wondering what was up. You should bushcraft a set of Roycraft snowshoes. 5 saplings about thumb diameter, shave bark. The tips gathered together at toe end, and two split pieces for under foot and to space out the saplings. I made a video on them 2-3 years ago. They are long like skis and let you float on top of snow. Really excellent. All the very best, Brother. 🤝

Hi, It's not the first time I've noticed this in your videos: why are you wearing your gaiters on the wrong side? They're obviously Swiss army mountain gaiters, whose zippers are supposed to be on the outside, as is the buckle for adjusting the bottom strap. Otherwise, the buckles may touch when walking. I enjoyed this video, thank you 🙂
@EnduranceRoom
@EnduranceRoom 4 ай бұрын
Hey! I cut the boot straps and buckles off years ago. Wearing the zip and lace on the inside seems more protected to me from snagging on the forest. The zips don’t bother me but can be silenced by running the laces through them. Cheers
@merlinch4256
@merlinch4256 4 ай бұрын
@@EnduranceRoom OK, that sounds good. I use mine for walks in the woods, and there are no problems. In your case, the remaining lace hook must be very useful :-) Good luck

Great night out Jess.I liked the old and new school working together. 2 questions The Savotta hip pack looked to be loaded pretty heavy especially with those 2 large pouches attached, how did it ride, would it benefit from a harness? What was that little sling bag you through on at the end? Nate
@EnduranceRoom
@EnduranceRoom 4 ай бұрын
Thanks Nate! It works surprisingly well. I had the Jerven (3lbs) and saw pouch with a 1L canteen on the other side. The jääkäri M sits on top of the hip pack. With the loads balanced right, it is really nice. It there is too much on top, it does push down a bit. But, yes, a harness would definitely be a great option. There are webbings loops on top of the hip pack that can be used for it. The sling pack was a bottle carrier I made out of the radio bag in an old ALICE pack sized to fit a 64oz bottle
