2 жыл бұрынThe song For Eldra is based on the real historical prayer Ahmad Ibn Fadlān recorded during his encounter with the Rūs people in AD 922. According to Ahmad Ibn Fadlān's recordings he witnessed a Rūs Viking funeral. This encounter has been recorded and preserved through the ages. You may know his story from the movie The 13th Warrior.
The prayer goes as follows:

By the gods, i get tears in my eyes not only because of the music itself but also because i would love to live the life i want, simple little hut in a forest. Through this song i also feel my ancestors next to me. I dont know how they see me but no matter what, i am proud of them and thank them for what they have done, otherwise i wouldnt stand right here. ❤

Beautifully mournful, this is medicine for my soul I love how there's this smoky quality that is so fitting for a Viking's funeral and the smoke going to the bleak dark skies.

I've had an idea to do a painting on the theme of "The Hall of our ancestors". This beautiful song is pure inspiration. Music has the power to connect to the core beneath the many layers. This is such a song capable of doing so.

It is a line that stretches back to Ask and Embla, the first humans Odin gave life to. And it is them I will rejoin in comfort when I travel to Lady Hel's hall when my days are spent.
