Wire EDM two gear wheels, 13 and 55 teeth. Took about 6.5 minutes per tooth. Raw material was flat stock, so this time in a different way.

Made many like that , Sodick has a program In the machine to generate them, also a Mastercam has, and there is a program called gearotic , that is very good and cheap that generates , simulate, and produces Gcode to make gears

oh i wish that mine had AWF. Manual threading is a pain, especially as my wire runs bottom to top (Fanuc Tapecut Model M)

Is very interesting, Congratulations. How many meters of wire use for cutter the 55 teeth gear?, thanks for this video.

How many backlash do you have?

Could you use the outer plates as part of a planetary gear set ? Is the cut the proper shape ?
@flo_52352 жыл бұрын
That doesn't work because the tooth form of the outer part is wrong by the kerf width

So many questions., but one I consider to be the most important(for me anyway), what's the amount of voltage and amperage to make the edm method function with wire?
@attilakovacs64282 жыл бұрын
Power when cutting approx. 100-110 volts / 0.5-1.0 amps. DC power, but! With 1000/1500 MHz interruption. But machine type and generator dependent. I only know the types AGIE, JAPAX, FANUK, SCHARMILLES.

@@attilakovacs6428 do you think buying used wire edm machine is good investment for the future
@attilakovacs64282 жыл бұрын
@@BB-bs7hm Great idea for making punching tools. I don’t write type because really the service background decides the quality. So first you need to find out what the background of the service is? GF AGIE & Scharmilles and FANUC are the most common types in Hungary where I live. What do you want to do with the machine?

High voltage Brass wire creates a tiny spark that removes the metal. The workpiece is submersed in deionised water.
