Something you should consider is a “get home bag.” I keep a pack with several days worth of food/water, water filter, solar charger, medical kit, extra clothes, shelter tarp, flashlight, extra pistol ammo, batteries, survival knife, tp and wipes, fire starter kit, etc. You probably have most of that in the truck, but having it in one small pack you can grab and run with could be a big asset in an emergency.

I used to for 20 years in every vehicle. I feel know that with my knowledge and what I do carry in the center council I can get home from anywhere.

Jason, One of the things I really enjoyed doing after getting my Gladiator was loading up all the gear and supplies. There is so much storage spaced beneath the back seat! I have a small bag of recovery gear--that I will never use--and am considering a winch like yours. Not to extract my Gladiator from a muddy pit, but to extract electric cars (with the obligatory annoying bumper stickers) out of a prime parking spaces at the mall.

😂😂😂on the winch use! Yep so much space under the back seat. It's unbelievable how much gear you can fit in there

I really appreciated this video and it's super timely! I would love to see a follow up video if you have the time of showing how to use some of this equipment, mainly the tow straps, kinetic rope, connecting ropes together, the shackles, etc. A buddy of mine got stuck in some deep mud this week and neither of us were prepared to get him out. We called out and had another Jeep come to rescue him which needed 2 straps and a chain to be long enough to do the recovery from solid ground. Well, that's not happening again lol. I want to be able to recover on the spot. So now I am on the hunt for some basic recovery gear to get started with and have something just in case. Would love any suggestions. I've heard varying advice. I'm not looking to break the bank, just a couple things to have and build from there over time. At some point, I'll get a winch, but for now something is better than nothing. I'd love to see what's needed minimum and how to use/combine equipment to do some recoveries.

Glad you enjoyed it. I have some other recovery vids in my offroad playlist. But here is a list of what I would have as a minimum. 1.Folding saw (can cut branches to make traction sticks). 2. mini shovel (mandatory) 3. cheap compressor (often airing down to 16psi will give a much bigger foot print and more traction). 4. 2 20 foot and 1 30 foot recovery straps recovery straps and shovel will let another vehicle get you out of almost anything. 5. A hitch reciever tow point (needed to safely pull from hitch). 6. 4 soft shackles to connect straps etc. For self recovery the saw, shovel the most important.

How about first aid kit i do realize its not recovery . An how are the tires did they slow down on wereing out at all ??? there is alot more room inside compare to my canyon at4x for sure !!! Enjoy your sunday .

Thst is a great point and something every car ahould have. In my center council I carry a small first aid kit. I think the colordao canyon comes in second with rear seat storage. So it still has quite a bit of room comparatively. Have not checked my tires in a bit but 25k on them now. Will have to see.

That's good you do that bro! I carry a 🔋jump starter, air pump & a tire plug kit + jumper cables just in case. And I'm in the city most of the time in PHX. If something simple happens I want to be able to take care of it myself. I also run an AGM interstate🔋 to help with reliability

Already has. Best truck I've ever owned. Most capable, most fun to drive, best storage, amazing radio with speakers right above your head, open air experience, and robustness only matched my a ram 2500 or ford f250
