You could add an ice axe loop in the center of your pack. That is wear most companies put them.

To each their own, but after watching your trip video the gear choice I would make is swap out the snow shoes for your choice skis and skins. Much better performer in deep snow (imo). Less physically taxing in general (imo). Love your gear.👍

I was definitely asking that question to myself once we were on the mountain...would love to have been able to try that set up and see the differences...

@@thetaysonwhittaker I made the switch years ago and never looked back. Now only use snowshoes as backup.

We did a trip this winter with my 27 degree bag and my 40 degree quilt (as well as my OV booties & hood) - I actually had the bag partially open to keep from overheating on a night that got down to about 14 degrees.

It's crazy how warm stacking bags can be! Besides adding up the down fill weights, there is an extra warmth from fabrics and additional gaps created in my opinion...

I follow everything, how did I miss the new hoody? You skated over it too?!?! I’m gonna need a part time job at OV to keep up!! Vest looks amazing too!! Can’t wait to get mine when they drop!

Great breakdown Tayson. I like your sleeping bag/quilt option. Makes a lot of sense. I've got a great system, works down to those temps but its bulky and heavy. I still can't believe you went into those temps with everything in a 40l pack. Respect. Nate

I liked it a lot! Perfect for me wanting to go as light as possible on a solo trip. I need to get a bigger shelter though for when I'm teaing up with someone or wanting a community area at night!

What’s the risk for co2 poisoning with a wood burning stove? Is everything vented out through the flue and fresh air come in under the tent?

I'm not sure if it has already been asked but how much did that weigh? I'm a beginner backpacker and all my gear plus backpack weighs 33lbs. That's with a 3 liter water bladder and an extra water container for the sawyer filter.

You need to be bringing a big fat ribeye or T bone steak when you in those temps.ultralight should be the gear ,never the food.much love and respect from NC,you should be eating large amounts of protein to stay warm.thanks for the great vid,and take care
