Gears is one reason why I game on Xbox. A series that always looks the best. And plays like no other.

Honestly I think Gears 5 kicks off a new more ambitious era for Microsoft Game studios. No cap. 💯👌🏾

I just find it funny that IGN gave the game an 8.8 when they also give small games with little to no replay value and low budget 8.8, like Blair Witch. Sure, Blair Witch has its strengths, but I doubt anyone who plays both games would ever put more hours into Blair Witch than Gears.

Coming from a PS4 player, I’m looking forward to this a whole hell of a lot more than Death Stranding. Pre-ordered Gears 5 a while back to play on my nephew’s XBOne. Gears 4 was pretty damn good, too.

I am glad to see that other people love this game as much as I do. Game bolt was correct, gears 4 was conservative but still aight. Gears 5, I couldn't get enough of the campaign and was sad when i completed it. I need more story to play and soon.

I initially played this on Xbox one X on a 65 inch 4k tv and was quite happy with the graphics. Then I got a 49 inch Super Ultrawide monitor and put the game on my PC and holy moly, total game changer. The PC port of Gears 5 is how I wish every pc game will release in the future.

I'm a PS4 fan but Game Pass is much better than PS+. Haven't touched my Pro since i got my One X 😂. Not a game pass Ultimate subscriber so I have to wait another day to play this 4k 60fps goodness.

One of the few reviews of this game that in my opinion is spot on. I'm a gears fan and this is one of the best gears games in many a year, way better than 4 and equally as good as any of the others.

Just recently played through this entire series after finally getting the Series X. I only ever played the first two games in the series before then so I was excited. I just finished 4 and got 5 downloaded. Hope it’s good.

Amazing game been playing it about a week and I keep finding little nuggets the reviewers didn't mention and I didn't even know about escape and the map builder!..

It's really good but the actual campaign combat scenarios are seriously lacking. I'm almost done with Act 2 but there hasn't been 1 firefight that has really stood out. Even Gears 4 began with a BANG, really well designed opening missions.

Is this going to be out on PC? Specifically Steam.

Just finished the game, still sinking in whats happened. One of the best gears loved the story and characters. Only thing i hated are the open map area levels mostly due driving from location to location it slowed the story down so much, never liked it in metro, uncharted 4, or god of war..really appreciated a game with online and a campaign that is not half assed.

i just completed Ac 1 and i'm so disappointed, i expected it to be an open game with more areas to investigate and side missions etc, but no it's still about following the drawn path! nvm it's still a Gear after all, hopefully the versus mode would be more interesting! love the details and the story though!

Bought my One X last year when I saw the first trailer for that game. It's great so far. Much better than the 4th episode.

This game is really good!!!! U shoot enemies less and the addition of instant kills from headshots with any qelcome was a great modern welcome. This game is excellent and may even the best one in the series but I'll hold my tongue on that until i actually finish the game. The multiplayer is great as well but needs tweeking. I think the beta was better. Putting the chainsaw and reload on the same button was the worst thing ever

I saw this video and was inspired. I showd the people I. Me village and they were inspire. We collectivel bought this game individual to play and collected achiventments for gamer score to inspire world with hope and love that won day we can MLG and win Muney for our villages.

The game is good, arguably not as far on either side of the spectrum but still as a game it’s enjoyable. Why though, do I need to stay connected to the gears servers in order to play a single player campaign regardless of how many players? It literally kicked me out of the final cutscene from the ending because of “connection issues”. Just wish less games were over reliant on internet connections

Any word on this game having an offline horde mode. Gears 4 you needed an internet connection to even play horde mode solo

My only problem is Kait and the splitscreen is crap. Gears of war 1,2,3 had way better splitscreen graphics and movement than 4 and 5.

I really liked this game. Overall is an improvement over 4: better movement, better content, better story and mechanics. Is one of the best Microsoft games from the Xbox One gen, but not the best. Forza Horizon 4 holds that title.

Man it’s good but only the story as long as they don’t make kait a lesbian then It’s almost perfect writing. Kait, as a female protagonist she’s well written, her toughness is earned and is everything I find attractive in a woman. She feels real, she feels like a southern conservative woman that liked to go hunting, knows her way around a gun and around squad based tactic, she doesn’t go around getting a love interest (thank God) but still has her feminine qualities, insecurities and that heart, making her an absolutely amazingly well written and rounded character. Del is given the best non stereotypical treatment, he’s well developed charming and friendly, he is entirely his own person, developed by life not by “culture” his loyalty, his commitment as a squad mate and friend feels like saving private Ryan style Military. Dude is a mans man and a good one. JD SEEMS to suffer but actually his writers did great as he has a legit arc and even his perseverance for the cog, justified paranoia over Kait’s locust connections and odd behavior make sense in the story and match well making the choice to kill or save him difficult (I saved del). Kait gets bets leading character in this generation of Xbox and personally I find her better to play and explore the motivations behind her, and her past better than even Halo. 9/10 on story 5/10 on multiplayer No maps Micro transactions Lack of incentives for online Bad servers But you get the terminator. (Um hell yes) I’ll be posting a video soon on this one

Please read this only if youve been following gears of war and have completed the gaeme. Am i the only one who misses the atmosphere and gameplay of gears 1? Dark almost scary and you never knew what was going to happen and you shit yourself fighting the beserker along with other bosses. The matriarch was kinda whack like shoot the ice shoot her back run away shoot ice again dive and shoot her back. Everyone that has played this franchise knows they can do way better than that. The first gears was way more grotesque when characters died it hit a lot harder and you felt more and it was fun even a little on the horror side. Just the intros of the enemies alone made you fear them. You feared enemies and mini bosses when you heard "GRINDD" or "BOOOOM" You shit yourself a little and ran for cover and you and your friend stared eachother down trying to figure out what the best plan of attack was in gears 5 any time a boss shows up you just go into cloak walk right into their face and dump a mag from the overkill "even faster with the relic version" in them and its over wow real hard Gears 5 was fun but the whole open world thing just didnt do it you spend hours going back and forth on the skiff just to get a couple parts maybe some collectables cause i did try to find them all along with the relic weapons but it felt like the game wanted you to explore but didnt reward you enough to do so. And even made the ai bitch about you wandering around. You find all 3 pieces to upgrade jack and they are almost all the same scenarios walk sideways through a crack, jump down, a bunch of robots come out, kill em, find the piece maybe some components then climb up even the boards to climb up were the same all the sequences were the same actually just got bored with it. And the desert area is the same exact thing just took the snow made it brown and instead of big ice blocks the changed the texture to look like rocks. Really cmon now. Same rinse and repeat as when you are in the snow area find this and that kill this go back maybe crash into a fire storm or 7 that actually chase you and destroy you. SPOILERS AHEAD The "big" descision at the end was pointless there are almost no differences in the outcome no conversations about it just stand in a circle. No matter who you choose your character says the same lines with the same reaction just lazy in my opinion and another cliffhanger ending i actually thought i was going to play more i was so ready to kill that bitch then it ended no after credit scenes or secret scenes like in past gears just a ending that leaves you wanting more but not in a good way gears 4 atleast left you feeling decent and ready to wait 3 years for a lackluster game with a lackluster ending imo. I dont focus on multiplayer or horde or even escape have yet to try them maybe they will be really good. Feel like everyone just is loving the game cause its on gamepass. But if youve read this far leave a like and a reply i want to know if its just me or if others are in the same boat!! Thank you

Played it and don’t understand why everyone loves it as it should have ended at 3 the game is very much becoming a call of duty franchise. The multiplayer ranked matches are just awful with me getting kicked out constantly and having to wait 10 minutes to play the next game. The single player story so far is just pointless and well I don’t even see the point of it. I think they should have created a new franchise as it’s no longer a gears game
