The whole reason people want a trilogy so bad or remasters. Is because the original devs for this game are long gone and its never been the same. Gears hasn't been gears since 3 when epic sold the rights to other companies

1 to 3 were absolutely brilliant judgement was shit had no interest or intention to play still don't but I own it gow 3 was the last one I played but only the multiplayer

Gears happened with 5 gears of war 4 still had "of war" and judgment was ass, there was no cool moments like gow 1-3 gears one had the car with the light section, the cool mine cart section, gow 2 had ravens the car as well and even using a brumak, gow 3 had the car section as you dodge imulsion lokust, goin down on a zip line, and they all had great atmosphere, judgment had none of that, they removed horde mode and integrated it into the very mid campaign, there was no deep feeling cutscenes or interactions with characters like gow1-3 had even 4 had better heart felt moments like when marcus was captured and his son was mortified, judgment had nothing just mid, gow 1-3 on top, even 4 is better than judgment imo with mp a lone

I also liked Judgment, it wasn't as good as the trilogy but it still had the feel of Gears. Gears 4 sucked, Gears 5 was slightly better.

Judgement was insane trash lmao. Gears 4 had a trash campaign but has the best multiplayer. It’s just gears 3 but plays and runs better.

Judgment is absolutely not great at all. It had a few things going for it but combat felt weird, bad repetitive gameplay, declassified missions sucked, and it felt like they just threw tons of different enemies into combat arenas rather than enemies serving their specific roles like in 1-3.

I miss the Gears Forums, made a lot of good friends there, the Discord is kinda a shadow of itself now

Ayyyy hold on, you can kinda still get it! On Xbox you can play all of the games, and people still play gears 3-5 all the time! Admittedly, it’s fair to say you can never remove them glory gays, but you can still get a good blast of nostalgia 😂

Horde and MP are a different story, I played nothing but G2 until 3 released (when I was far too young to play it) but the campaign isn’t really meant for replays, outside of the decade removed revisiting. Kinda like most linear campaign modes, I’d never give a COD game a second run through either, not because I don’t like them, it’s just a personal preference for gameplay on my part.

I believe ripped the cutscene for this, but in one of my newer videos going over the entire Lore of Dom’s story, I was able to keep Maria’s scene in there and YT never prompted me to remove the music. So idk

Some people really do, I can recognize the bad writing in Gears 4/5... but to me it's kinda been in the series since the beginning. Even if they made a return to form in the most authentic greyed out way possible, people would complain that it's TOO monochromatic or TOO masculine, you're never gonna appease people, and that goes double for Gears fans. But that's why I started Nexus Nights! To bring together Gears fans that enjoy Gears and other co-op shooters, rather than focus on the negatives. I try to stray from the negative critiques of these games not because they're perfect or even that they deserve it--but because gaming is more fun when you let yourself have fun, rather than going full Reddit and writing a novel about why Kait Diaz is the worst thing in the history of gaming.

@Faintwolf The collection should include Judgment as well. Since ODST and Reach are in the MCC.

Gears 2 & 3 remade in gears 4&5s engine would be dope. (Of course gameplay flow like gears 4 as I feel 4th gears plays much better than 5) And the added characters from the newer games would be great too.

Gotta try upscale on the Series X/S, it feels remastered at 60fps and I don’t feel any delay.

I dont trust the new developers to give this game justice. This game has such a dark and unique look that i dint want get ruined

@@Buster-McTunder Also not sure what game you are playing but mine ran at 30fps or less during most combat sequences and had approx 0.25-0.5ms of delay. Isn't the Xbox One X better than the series S? Beat the Gears 2 campaign again recently. Definitely needs a remaster where I can play it on my own hardware not this trash can they call the Xbox One.

100% agree. I’m not saying that a remaster wouldn’t be a delight, I fear many people interpret it as that, but if I wanted to replay these games that often, I’d play them as they are. Something akin to a spiritual successor ala DOOM 2016 or God of War 2018 that does something new yet similar while evolving, rather than releasing a 2008 game in 2024 with a fresh coat of paint is the way I’d take it, Gears UE died instantly after 4 was released, I’m just of the opinion that’s because even a remaster with graphics that still hold up today, is held back by the burdens of making a game that is stale in comparison to how the TPS genre has evolved. It’s like Warhammer: Boltgun, which I adore but at the same time it’s singularly derivative of DOOM with a Space Marine paint job, it can only be as good as the atmosphere with games like DOOM Eternal taking the cake.

I’ll think about it, I don’t really want to limit myself to Gears though.

Get the game pass and they're all there save for 5 Amazing games. Gears 1 is a bit dated but still amazing Gears 2 is beautiful Gears 3 is emotional and a good ending Gears 4 is good.gsmeplay wise but story was a little meh. Give it a shot.

@evifoenplay they can be quite overwhelming too. Especially with many enemies around. Some try to flank you while you're pinned by a turret

Probably 3, or if I'm feeling heretical, it's a close tie between 4 and Tactics. I made a video ranking the games by my own standard and from a more objective POV, but yeah--I was a freshman when 4 came out so between 3/4 I spent the most time with.

It wasn’t remastered. Maybe an unofficial port by a third party or on Xbox’s streaming service. I know if you stream the game to PC it should load with the next gen specs (60fps and upscaled to 1080)

I like Gears 2 multiplayer more, Gears 3 felt like it was made easier for new players

I like the gameplay in 4/5 the best out of the series, it’s just the story and atmospheres that are brought down imo

I mean gameplay and micro transactions? Gears 3 had it. I think 4 was an improvement and 5 is hit or miss, honestly compared to most games out there Gears is even pretty forgiving, seeing as in 5 (even 4 if you played enough) you don’t really have to spend any money whatsoever to unlock the characters or skins you really want, unless you want Black/Chrome Steel, but thats a whole different thing. Story yeah, there’s just no character in the new ones but gameplay id say is a vast improvement. People may not like the faster pace personally, but I think it’s fine.

I’ll be honest I don’t like it across the board, I prefer the Locust being a clash of natural and the drones being manufactured. But Tactics totally undid that.

There was texts that implied corpsers and wretches (and other animal creatures like Leviathans) were natural to Sera and then the Drones/Therons just domesticated them. In Tactics they just slap the genetic experiment label on everything, meaning that every last Locust was made in ~50 years at the most

It does, it undos the mystery of the Locust though, makes them more boring.

I just don’t feel compelled to play the Campaign again and again after a first run, maybe an Insane run for the achievement. Not saying that others don’t enjoy it, but these games are dated for me and there’s not a lot of mixture in a replay as you’d get in an RPG like Mass Effect or something.

@Buster-McTunder that's what I did my first play through I played it on the hardest difficulty with no help it took me I believe a whole year to beat the game cause I was trying to beat a record of not dying once through the hardest difficulty, but it was hard to do someone did it and I tried to replicate it, but it's almost impossible, but can be done. You must have played it on normal setting to give a comment about the game cause if you was just playing it on hardest difficulty you wouldn't be saying it's not replayable.

I can kinda agree on gamers playing newer stuff, but that's sort of the way of the industry. Why would I still be playing a 15 year old game when games today feel and look so much better? I'm personally of the opinion that I prefer the gameplay of 4/5 over the original trilogy, and I even enjoy Judgment to some extent--but yeah the whole gravity of the series was left behind.

@@Buster-McTunder I don’t know how the new gears handles or feels. Us OG players will say that all the fancy new weapons and grabbing people over cover ruins the meta. As for looking good I completely disagree. I don’t think graphics have been a problem in AAA games since 2006. Now they are just adding more individual arm hairs on characters and very little else. What really matters is artistry and how good the people who designed the game were. That’s what makes it look good in my opinion.
