I have to say this is probably my favourite of the series in terms of campaign. Which for me is the most important part of any game.

@NewWorldParty same here buddy, well kinda. I got a 360 so i wouldn't have to get a new hard drive for my ps3 and so that i could get both exclusive. I do like the 360 controller almost as much as my ps3 controller, except that i have an attachment that fixes the crappy triggers. do you have the attachment?

one more thing. I know that you can only do the curb stomp in multiplayer, but what about the stuff he talked about from 4:00-4:08? Can you do those in campaign too?

Does anyone else notice the glitching of the cloth at 7:29? It's in every video of that scene that I've seen and it bugs me.

Those super creatures ("sires") are probably humans who were experimented on by a group of scientists lead by a certain Niles (who lent his name to the AI that's talking to you throughout the complex). There isn't much information about them though. It's still a complete mystery why sinking Jacinto might not have been such a good idea, even though Adam said in a recording that it was the only way. This will probably be fleshed out in Gears of War 3, if it ever comes out.

@oscaqr1 On my Ps3 i would say. Uncharted 2&3 and Killzone 2&3 are the the best graphicwise. What are the best exclusive games for the 360?

Nice review vid, i'm surprise with the 9.0 rating but its still good. Its weird how reviewers review games, this gears is better than the first but still got a lower score. Still the most badass game to come out this year.

Aurongel - Yes but GTA 3-4 was a console generation step up too! ...If gears 1 was out on original xbox then this would`ve been a HUGE step UP

this is one of the best shooters ever made. Joins and even surpasses the great Half Life, Call of duty and Halo sagas.

@Izak80 and you know you're gonna love reach, then you should start with that one. Either way gears is amazing, and halo reach looks pretty awesome too. So it's really up to you. Another thing you could do is play the gears series and then play halo for a while, so that when halo 4 comes out you can jump right into that one without having to get used to the gameplay and controls again.

lmao 11 year old comment, but yeah it was patched out pretty quickly as it was one of the most complained about things for the multiplayer, but i totally agree that it was a nice feature, in the multiplayer, it allowed you to push someone camping cover if timed correctly after the nerf the smoke nade was pointless. it doesn't produce enough smoke to really cover you from anything and not to mention if you hover your crosshair through the smoke, it goes red if it's ontop of an enemy meaning you stiill get shot through the cloud. the best thing i could really give it is you could "maybe" use it as a smoke bomb to get away, but ehhh it hardly produces enough smoke to cover a single player

It really depends. What did you like about it? If it's the 3rd person and whole cover system, then you won't like it. But if you're looking for more action and deeper story line, well, this is for you.

@NewWorldParty It plays alot like the 360, except you don't have the cramp at the beginning. You just click them on top of the regular triggers and they cover it and make them wider and taller, so essentially their like OVERSIZED 360 triggers for PS3, for $5 its worth it, because i can't play my shooters/racers with the regular triggers, hope this helps, Key.

@Izak80 awesome. yeah you're gonna love gears 2. gears 3 is the best game of the tree, but gears 2 had the most fun campaing in my opinion. there's just so much to do in gears 2. and the best part is that it's only 10 bucks now

i kinda wanted the defense of jacinto to be this huge battle. kinda like a minas tirith lotr kinda thing. I think it wouldve been sweet if the locust just came in waves and ud hav 2 fall bak and eventually the city would fall. i think this wouldve given the game a sense of desperation and heroism.

i bought the first gow about 3 days ago for 30 bucks, cuz it was released quite a while ago. it is AMAZING. idk how good gow2 is, but im planning on buying it. but i definitely recommend the original.

@Izak80 well, to be honest, compared to gears 3 both of the first two are gonna feel a bit outdated. But gears 2 more than makes up for it. It has an awesome campaing and awesome music. Gears 1 is pretty cool too. A lot of people loved the first game, so yeah i recomend you play it too (but if you don't, you won't miss out on much of the story). And if you wanna start strong, then that would be based on opinion. I would start with gears cause i'm a fan of gears already, but if you love halo

@slipknotskate1 true, but a sequel does have to retain its old gameplay. like how metal gear IV and GTA IV got 10's and they both had the same formula but with better multiplayer and story.

@xonatman Bought a bunch of games together with the Xbox 360 GoW3 Limited Edition console. Halo: Reach, Gears of war 1, Medal of honor, Lego Batman and Pure bundle. Havent even beat Reach yet eventhough i've had for about 2 weeks now.

Huh? Multiplayer is the star of the show? This game had the most broken multiplayer of any AAA game I could think of (except cod) But at the other end I think it had by far the best campaign.

@TylerLovegrove coolboy has it right. The campaing on gears of war 2 was way better than halo 3. halo 3 is more for the online, though gears 2 online is still pretty good too, just different.

@coolboy9991 it's joemann84 on both PSN and Live. First now, I only have uncharted 2 and marvel vs capcom on PS3. I have a bit more games on my 360 than my PS3, but not that many either. Uncharted 2 was good, but it's a bit different compared to gears 2. There just two different styles of games, with some similarities.
