When u can hear the qualities of the guitar and even the STRINGS!? U got a keeper. Exemplary amps. Made for the true musician with great ears and taste. U don't have to be a shredder, just able to make beautiful music. These amps seem to catalyze the players true sound and abilities into sonic excellence.

Really cool sounds. The 61 Strat takes me back to the studio years with GFR. I had one identical, sold it before going to Nam. Great series.

Hi Matt, you probably don't need any other amps, but I wonder what would you think of the new amps coming out these years, like the Marshall studio versions (with smaller transformers), the Marshall Origin, or the recent PRSHX 20watts
@MOBontv
@MOBontv Жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, thanks for asking. Haven't tried much of the newer amps. After finally getting a wreck, I never looked at another amp again. Pretty biased statement I know, but that's how they make me feel. Its the perfect amp for me. I really like hearing other players demoing their tone, that inspires me too because its our journey to find that tone that works. My buddy Tommy in Dallas does a SRV tribute called Texas Flood. He uses a Soldano now and sounds amazing. There's great amps out there for sure. Keep me posted if you hear something. I'd love to check it out too

On the cleaner side of the Trainwreck circuits for sure. I think the Fenders sound better than the Gibson (and I'm a Gibson player), which sounded a little bit ratty on the high notes with the volume up. (No dis on your playing whatsoever!). Keep up the good work!

Would be great to see a schematic! Or at least some gutshots to draw one. I build amps for myself, mostly based on Vox circuits, and this would be a great starting point for something a little different.

Ha, while we were driving to the studio, my friend and I were laughing that we're the only lunatics around driving with 5 wrecks, 2 of which were Ken's personal amps, a vintage ampeg with 1968 celestion greenback 30's with 014 cones, 3 custom shop les pauls, a custom shop tele, and a 1961 strat. All on our way to meet with a real burst owner to demo the 1959 in an amazing studio with all their vintage recording gear. That's what I call an amazing day!!! Thanks for watching.
