As someone who has watched Code Goatess, like 7 times now through and through. I want to admit I would have never though that Villeta and Anya would have such dynamic parallels to losing their memories, the connections towards Jeremiah and searching for answer from Lelouch who connects them to the source of their memories loss being Geass. Jesus, dude an amazing analysis and I really enjoyed watching it through and through. Code Geass is my favorite anime of all time, for the themes it discuss regarding discrimination, racism, classism, how it tells balances the themes of do good actions by evil people are justified the lack of choices for those being part of a system such as Britannia. And have characteristics that I resonate deeply with both Lelouch and Suzaku. Im really thankful for the amount of dedication, work, time, energy, and critical thoughts you put into these videos. I have to say: As someone who has watched Code geass countless times and loved every second of it, it never occured to me that on so so many occasions, the plot really doesn't feel scripted, just because everyone is acting consistently according to their character, contributing to the overall picture. Thank you very much for this new view. Also: I strongly disagree with your "enough of Shirley" transition... :) there is never a situation where there is to much of her story. I mean her death was basically the one other climax in the story (and equally tragic and sad)

Never disappointed by these analysis, esp anya. By far most underrated character for such an underrated cast.

Nothing about Code Geass is contrived in the sense of plot demands or force… they happen in logical and realistic character decisions, because as much as like you said, Code Geass displays the themes of fate, it embodies the themes of human freedom and free will even more. Characters like Lelouch and CC show that everything that happens isnt because of a higher force like fate or luck but because these characters choose what to do and follow, Shirely chose to love Lelouch despite his sins and actions that hurt her, Ohgi didn’t coincidentally find and save villeta and take care of her to develop feelings, he chose that and Villeta didn’t fatefully reciprocate his feelings after regaining her memories, she chose to look for him and pursue the man who despite being her enemy, saved her life and took care of her and showed her a life outside of war and conflict such as being a soldier.

good video. I was not aware people criticize contrivances in Code Geass. Thats such a dumb thing to complain about when every character is acting consistently with what they want. (aside from Geass altering their will) It is a strength of Code Geass that the story never required someone to act out of character to serve the plot as often happens in many stories. Which is only possible because of the layered and varied cast. I appreciate these videos as always @Zero because I've never considered the memory loss connection between Anya and Villetta.
