The conversations between dog trainers transmit so much information that you do not necessarily get from asking questions . Dog training to me is something to be absorbed .

What Nino is saying is spot on. My answer to this is nothing more then being in tune with the animal.. That natural ability to be in sync with the dog and become one in the work.. The dog feeds off of this. Emotion in the work that the trainer is able to feed the animal. The good trainers have this ability.. Hard to explain but I know Nino understands what I'm trying to say.. Great conversation.. You see Oscars new Shep.. The foundation was done by another trainer but now he has a dog (ferrari) that he needs to be able to not take into the wall.. Going to be fun to watch him take that dog into the competitive sports..

Nino seems like such a down to earth, knowledgeable guy. I enjoyed listening to his wisdom and so appreciate his view on doing his own thing and not worrying about putting other trainers down or worrying about what others are doing. He’s got some crazy skills.

The Ivan podcast definitely flipped my world upside down. I got a totally new perspective and did end up changing my approach slightly.

That was great information on both sides. It would be nice to see longer videos of Nino’s training on KZfaq, most of what I see are very short clips. Thank you both for taking the time to do this.

Great video Larry.. as a trainer myself these type of conversations help give different aspects of training that trainers with less experience can learn a lot from ..I definitely hope to make my way into the igp world in the coming years

I totally think manufacturing companies should 💯 be educating the public and their customers...ecollar technologies actually does a great job of it on their social media 👏 but ALL the companies need to participate 🙏

Funny part is Larry that Jeff Gelman also does not always have ecollars on his dog. By mentioning Jeff with shame you just separate the conversaation more like what Ivan did with you on the show. Nino response after that mention was spot on . We can do better by having good conversations. Nice talk guys

Yep 💯 Some of the training JG does with and without the ecollar is fantastic for mindset. Some really valuable techniques-and it isn't "frying" a dog on an ecollar at all 😂

very nice . I have always said that the dog has to beleive in the handler/ trainer simply because the dog must feel it is doing it with the handler/trainer not for them

I wouldn't want trainers to show the same top level competition stuff designed for dogs like Malinois on a Husky. But I would love to see how dogs like a Husky would turn out under the wings of such trainers. Would love to see such trainers do what a dog like a Husky needs in order be the best dog it can become.

I'm relatively new to dog training, but huskies and other primitive breeds are my favourite dogs. I started doing rally obedience over the winter and love it. It gives me new challenges to pursue with my dog. I'm not a pro trainer, I just get excited when people mention huskies and obedience. ^^;; But I have had the same thought as you. To me there's nothing more fun than training a husky because of their independent spirit, and I would love to see a pro trainer work with them so I could learn even more. I also train parrots to free-fly, so I think I'm just attracted to animals with less of an innate desire to please.

I don’t understand the criticism towards Jeff..his training is about eliminating unwanted behaviors, other then that he also used the ecollar to enforce known commands (especially during his seminars) and to teaches new ones to his board and training !! 😅 the FF/PO trainers nitpick his videos for their agenda, especially those clips about bonking and ecollar corrections..
