Unfortunately I was Laid-off 2 times last year(March 2022 and November 2022), it's been tough I don't why it happened with me twice but I was heartbroken both times , however I stayed positive and worked hard and upskilled myself, I knew something good and big will happen, after 3 months of giving lots of interviews and lots of rejections in final rounds I was able to get a job and I joinned a early stage startup and in just 3 months I have been able to learn a lot as I am doing everything from scrach here.

Just saw your video brother today and i was also like you one of those sde 1 who got affected at Jan layoffs. My entire team was impacted in the layoff and within 8 months span since i joined Amazon i was laid off at amazon . I know the exact feeling you must have gone through. I was on the same boat last year when it happened. Was just scrolling down youtube and found your video couldn’t stop myself from commenting on this. All the best for future. 👍

Everyone has bad phases in life, keep going, keep pushing hard, believe in yourself, play some football and things will set into motion just like they were planned to be. Sir, you have been a motivation for me since my jee days and it breaks my heart to see you getting laid off. But I guess this is life, things do get complicated, not everything is in our control, but the indomitable human spirit always wins against the indifferent cruelty of the universe. I am sorry to hear about what happened to you. From my past experience as an Amazon Intern as well, I can say that the process there is quite random. Even if we put in all the work and our best, there are some factors that are not in our hands and when the decision of us being in the company or not falls on such factors, it always hurts very bad. Kudos to you for being strong after that. Have faith in yourself and believe that everything would turn out good in the end.

Thanks for sharing your experience man.. One who is talented enough to pass Amazon interview can got job somewhere easily. The problem(depression/anxiety) you face is not due to you layoff but what will society or parents will think about me.

Bhai i got laid off from "Quantiphi Analytics" a mid size firm. And I am still struggling since December-22 !! It has been 6 months now.. I am married.. i have a daughter and right now the only sunshine for me is my earning wife and my family is surviving from her salary. Not sure when the suffering would end.. but i am keeping my hopes high cz i know that i WILL GET THE JOB SOON !!

Hi, Neelayan Sir. I knew you as Sohan's roomate since a long ago as Sohan is like my elder brother not as blood relation but from same school. His parents were our close relatives. So, I started following your YT channel from my 3rd year of engineering as our likes, dislikes and aspirations were somehow aligning together. After watching this video, as a younger brother I can only say don't loose hope, keep believing in yourself and I think something unique and amazing is written for you that's why you got laid off :-)

The main thing that hit me hard and what I corelate with my life and my psychology is that if I have done something wrong and because of that I know I am gonna get laid off, that's perfectly fine.. I will obviously know where I am lagging behind and I can work on it, but that's the thing if something bad happens without reason it really hits the confidence and leaves me shattered and confused. For me also, I just take a few days off and just find a reason where I might be bad at after doing a very critical analysis, I generally take the blame upon me, because what I feel is if I something bad happened to me because of something bad I have done, the ball is on my court, I can always choose to work on it and turn around

Its not specific to IITians or anything, there are multiple variables in layoffs (which business unit is getting closed, pay of employee, some performance too, level, and many more). Only CXO can actually tell the variables, no SDE will know this.

Same here.. on the same data. Coming from non CS IT EC branch and tier 3 college, cracking Amazon was a dream come true but they threw us like a fly in tea. Well, job security is a myth. I had offers from Adobe and Amazon but I went for Amazon. I kept on thinking after lay off that why didn't I go with Adobe, did not hear any news of firing there.

My parent company decided to layoff reduce teamsize by 50 per for us notice period was just 1month they forced to resign to avoid termination as per their bullshit policy. Since I had 3years bond still they laidoff so i never upgraded i worked in outdated ptoj &tech . I have just 1.9 year experience .My company returned all my original marks cards & documents which given as assurity for 3years bond .They said they support in background verification. I have 1.9 year experience in suitcrm & sugarcrm framework now learning Salesforce . In upcoming interviews what reason i should tell for this gap already 20days over

Nobody was giving me job then I got into the company with salary Rs 10k/month and I also got removed due to my performance Then I studied for 12 Hrs/day and I got into a product based company then after one year I have replaced a 6 years old experience guy(my manager) and today nobody can afford me easily

See, degree you have to get anyway. But as long as you have skills, even if any company lays off people, you'll always be able to get another job. What matters is the skill. So work hard, study hard, you'll be fine

@@akhilbadoni8073 difficult to predict what might happen in the future. But I feel the most important thing is the ability to learn and grasp any new technology that comes. We are in an age where technology is moving at a super fast pace, so the ability to learn and understand how to use the tech is more important than any prediction. So I say focus on learning and rest everything will be taken care of.

Are bhaiya aapko layoff mil gaya aur hmare batch ka joining nhi aa raha bs onboarding delay ho raha hain graduation bhi khatam ho gaya result bhi aa gaya lekin joining date nhi aa raha. Daily bs yahi chal raha ki jitna leetcode codechef kiye sb waste ho gaya.
