The original comment made it seem like this video was an advert for some RTX 30 series feature but it's just an informational video for any of the millions of people who have built an Nvidia system in the last 6-7 years. Not that the GPU market situation doesn't suck right now. I was planning to upgrade from my GTX 970 to the 3060 Ti but I guess I'll need to drive this bad boy for a while still

No bro .. if you want to be competitive you must buy a better hardware and good internet. Otherwise just enjoy the game on the pc you have. This is not what it is meant to be a "Pay to win" scenario.

@Steps Well, the console field is definitely more even but even then you have PS4 players playing against PS5 players at 120fps (or the Xbox equivalents). Not to mention modded controllers and shit. I'd say gaming in general has always been a little bit pay to win, you just gotta do the best with what you can afford and what skills you have :)

They already did. If you want to play competetive fps games you need crazy pc 360 hz monitor etc, its not playable for mortals anymore. Low input lag, low ping and high refresh rate wins, there is no such thing as skill anymore, how good you can perform lies under the money thresholds you can put into your rig

Dont use vsync and lower your graphics so your minimum fps is not less than your monitor refresh rate so 144 in your case if you want the lowest latency possible for your setup

V-sync adds input lag. Input Lag is a much more important part of the monitor buying experience. Monitors will advertise their ‘response times’ using GTG or MPRT, but neither of these are realistic, nor translate to complete speed supremacy. Input lag is NOT marketed on most monitors, but it’s the most important feature. I bought a monitor with an advertised 2ms response time BUT that was through increased post processing, which increased the input lag. Some 60hz monitors have BETTER input lag scores than 144hz monitors. Basically, google the input lag of your monitor, google whether your panel is IPS (slowest - but best picture), VA(mediocre picture, mediocre speed - often curved monitors) or TN(the fastest panels with unfortunately poorer viewing angles and worse colour) TN panels typically can have 1ms GTG (MSPT is a marketing gotcha). TN panels are MUCH faster than IPS and VA because TN generally doesn’t do any post processing to its image, delivering you a faster frame. My guy, if you’re running an IPS panel that has an advertised 5ms response time, your input lag might be quite high too. Adaptive V Sync is also not the way to go if you’re interested in speed, as V-sync ADDS a significant amount of input lag to your game. And of course, max graphics just eats away at your GPU’s throughput. If you want to maximise FPS while reducing input lag and response times, maybe max graphics isn’t the way to go? Jesus christ I just rambled on for so long on a random half arsed comment on an nvidia advertisement, for gods sake.😐 Hope this jumbled mess of words helps you pal, have a safe one 😇
