The tailor-made Geislinger Damper is specifically designed for applications, where high performance, the most compact design and low cost of ownership is requested. It provides constant stiffness and high damping throughout its service life. The Geislinger Damper is often used in combination with a Geislinger Monitoring System which enables an early detection of critical loads. The torsional vibration steel spring damper allows for lowest life-cycle cost (LCC).
It reliably protects engine crankshafts, camshafts, intermediate or propeller shafts in all kinds of powertrain applications. By influencing the critical frequency and the significant reduction of torsional amplitudes, the Geislinger Damper can also help to avoid a barred speed range. As modern engines tend to create more than one critical frequency, Geislinger has developed compact dual damper solutions as well as combinations of a Geislinger Damper and a Geislinger Vdamp®. This design flexibility guarantees the best solution for every type of engine and powertrain.

The engine they're showing is definitely an MTU engine. The intakes and intercooler are reminiscent of the 16V4000, and the crankshaft has a 1-8-2-6-4-5-3-7 crank throw arrangement, which is the same as on MTU 90° V16 engines (built up from two mirror-image crossplane V8 cranks). The firing order, if we use standard automotive numbering conventions (cylinders numbered from the front backwards along with the standard definitions of "left" and "right"), is 1R 7L 1L 6R 4R 6L 4L 7R 3L 8R 2R 8L 2L 5R 3R 5L.

Is there oil in the dampeners? The pieces in between the flexible steel two piece dampers they are shaped like cones with a hole drilled at the outer edge...what is it called? Are those aformentioned piece fit in or part of the "outer race" for lack of better term?

Hello @jlgoose8078 Thank you for your comment. Every Geislinger steel spring damper is supplied with oil so that there is oil pressure in the damper during operation. The component described is an "intermediate piece" that separates the spring packs from each other. The intermediate pieces and the outer clamping ring are separate components.
