Does cuticle prep and using just a buffing block work for etching the nail? I’ve tried this and my nails do not last. Is there a recommended grit?
@torischwartz745 Жыл бұрын
For the cuticles u need to have a pusher or an orange wood stick to expose that dead cuticle once it is you can go in and use 150 buffing block or file to gentle go around the cuticle then lightly remove the shine from the nail Make sure to use a cleanser on the nail plate like yn swipe or u can use 91% alcohol I dehydrate then bond and prime my natural nail only For etching the tip a diamond bit works best especially a long flame bit that can get into the pinky nail very well to etch or u can chemically etch the nail with a primer I do both if I do gel x nails hope this helps hun or almost forgot u have only 14 mins from the time you remove the shine to finish prepping and gets the nails on otherwise our natural oils start to come up to the surface of the mail again 😊

@jewdy89155 ай бұрын
@@amalasiridepending on the quality of your gel and the condition of your nails, you may not need bond and prep. Some nails need all the adhesion help, and some don’t. Use alcohol to cleanse after removing all cuticle from the nail plate and “scub” the base into your nails. If they lift at the free edge, you need more adhesion help.

I bought my natural tips and did it last weekend I did a TON of prep around my cuticle and followed all the directions. Most of them started lifting within a week...even tho I got the natural ones there was a TON of space between top of extension and my natural nail. Not put enough product there were bubbles and then i iput more product it oozed out the sides. I hate it because they are such a pretty shape and look so much better than lumpy dip powder. I worked to file critical line so it fit and the sides covered sidewalls completely. I don't know what to do😢

Did you use primer, and dehydrator then etch the tips??
@elizabeth98412 ай бұрын
I've been having the same problem and I think the key is getting the glue right and taking your time with the application before you cure. You should be applying the extension slowly and carefully and trying to make sure there aren't any bubbles and before you start curing and if it's not right try again adding or taking off glue from the extension. I've tried like 3 times in the past week and I think my problem was not bothering to check the application was perfect before curing

What's the difference between flash cute and full cute? Can you use the same light?
@jewdy89155 ай бұрын
Flash cure is juat a quick cure to hold the product in place but it’s not fully cured. You can use a big lamp to flash cure, but the small lamps may not be strong enough to fully cure the product and this will eventually cause skin problems.

So my coworker in insists that you should use a sanding band on your e-file to rough up the nail before application. I've always just buffed away the shine with a medium buffer. Is there really that much of a difference? I just feel that I'm damaging the nail plate less using a buffer by taking off less

You need at least 180 grit on your buffer to ensure there is enough texture to adhere. You don’t want to buff the nail plate smooth. You can focus the buffing on new growth only so you aren’t removing layers from the older growth every time.
