Gemini is a dual-screen e-reader and is coming out soon

The Gemini can be rotated 360 degrees or opened and closed like an actual book. An integrated microphone module on the stylus makes voice input more flexible. The detachable microphone module allows users to clip it onto the collar. Physical buttons can act as manual page turns and a home button. There is a speaker, Bluetooth and USB-C. I like turning one screen into a virtual keyboard and the other an output of your typing. It could function as a word processor or email writing tool.

The dual screens make sense for the Guido (or whatever it’s called) because sheet music is a use where you kind of need a two page spread all the time, but for a normal device I just don’t see the use case where a bigger single screen wouldn’t be just as good if not better.

I want Onyx to do an eInk version of the Surface Duo. eBooks and notes. Keep it small like the Duo. Gemini is interesting. But price will tell. And if there's no Android, Google Play, and card slot, it's dead on arrival. [typo edit]

exactly, i was shopping for my first ereader in the 8 inch offerings, might go with something pocketable for text and wait for this for manga

Agreed! Two-page spread for manga has been my top priority for a while now. I'd end up buying this, or a 13-inch 4:3 300dpi eInk reader ...whichever makes it to market first.

Like working on double screen at once but it seems like it's gonna be too big for my reading habit. But otherwise, the concept is great for general work if integrate it with other typing workflow

I've been wating for just this, for years. a bit skeptical about whether it will ever see the light of day, however ! apps such as texting and email would be nice, but I'd buy it for just the book function.... I don't need to write or draw ! price, of course. I use a surface duo, but it's too small to serve as a full book when reading

I think it would better with two 10" screens. 7.8“ is kind of small for note taking.

i like it but it will probably be too expensive for me. i use a kindle scribe and write in it almost every day. i could see using this one in classes . some of us like to write notes and this would be great for that

Так всё зависит от реализации, я вот даже как пример приведу рисование, на одном экране если будут отображаться инструменты рисования и опции различные, а на втором холст для рисования, то это будет круто, а вот если и инструменты и холст как бы поделят наполовину, что может аж часть кнопок обрежется (да и линии на холсте проводить с экрана на экран будет тяжело...) - вот тогда будет не хорошо!

absolutely! anyone who needs to read research papers on daily basis or read sheet music & be mobile - 13,3 inch eink tablet is way to clumsy to pull out of bag, not speaking of the huge fragile screen exposed in the bag

seems large and bulky and the advantages are more of a novelty... think Ill stick to single page devices, neat though.

So is like the eOneBook but without the book looking gimmick? Probably a bit too big for that but considering the eOneBook is dead now (just discovered it was discontinued last year, RIP) I guess this could be nice

It sounds interesting in premise. I feel like Android is the way to go if they can utilize the work that the Microsoft Surface Duo put into the OS. At the size they're targeting, I feel like it'll be too small.most I can justify for it would be around $800. That's if it's Android. Anything else for an OS...not worth it to me.

Problem could be the price. Most of the price of an e-ink reader is the screen, double the screen and your are probably looking in the 200+ cost of manufacturing.

Yeah for sure, I could just be a prototype however. This was the same kind of approach that Fujitsu took; using a concept photo for their launch, and now they're one of the most successful devices in the industry

Adore the scribes amazing screen for when I read the Bible but the 2018 Paperwhite screen is silky smooth and unabrasive compared with the scribe so sometimes I read on that. And mix it with the right cover I still get blown away by the genius of it even after all these years and hundreds of books read
