Oh wow, Rob's mysterious role (writer) has been revealed haha I would have assumed he was an expert had it not been for a video where he is referred to as "not an expert" lol. Ahhhh this is why his Spanish was so good (can't assume since it's such a common language in the USA). This episode was too cute

Another use for selenite, or gypsum, in particular, is to prime canvases after they've been stretched and a sizing medium has been applied and allowed to dry. The sizing mediums are usually a type of adhesive, like rabbit hide glue or fish gelatin glue, and functions to both add moisture to shrink the canvas and also to act as am adhesion promoter so the primer bonds well. The gypsum-based primer is called Gesso, and can be made with either animal hide glue, or a similar glue, or it can be made with a drying oil like linseed oil. Modern acrylic primers are also used, which may use other white pigments instead of gypsum. Additionally, this primer is sometimes called "ground" because it provides the solid, yet absorbent foundation for the painting. The more you know!

A good use for satin spar selenite, chip off bits and put it in your plant soil, when you water your plants, they’ll be happier because they’re getting mineral water instead of tap water, it’s more nutritious for them. (I’m not sure if this is scientifically true but I’ve heard it a lot and it works for me HAHA)

How has there been no gems from the UK? I actually really want to see Welsh gems in particular as I am Welsh and you don't really hear about Welsh gemstones or crystals it would be very interesting to see what sort of gems and minerals Wales has to offer we do have a little bit of blue quartz and we have fluorite too up in Merthyr Tydfil but they are the only ones you really hear about over here
