From 18 to my late 20s I worked in a Chevy garage, it was a very small dealership so I wore many hats, Including technician. My small dealership was one that got shut down. Now I'm a single mom...I can't afford a car payment so I have a 3rd Gen toyota 4 runner. This month I've spent about a grand in repairs having somebody else do the work. Mind you I'm in my 40s I dealt with a serious health condition for years. I'm on the mend. Your videos have inspired me to get back under the hood and do some of the minor repairs I need. One being the power steering pump.

Proud new owner of a "new" 2007 TRD Offroad Tacoma, access cab. Was doing solo motorcycle travel off road but just turned 70 so now I can travel with two puppies and don't have to pick up a 500 pound bike periodically.

I will follow all the videos. I have a similar dream and because of that I have here, in the USA, 2 x 4Runners and in Brazil one Hilux. And the oldest 4Runner (2010) will transformed to a adventure car. And the most interesting thing is that I used the video that you did to change and flush the AT.

I've said it before but I have know girls over the years. For context I retired from the USAF after 20yrs In 1990. Most interested in cars but very few wanted to do the work themselves. You two as a team are awesome. I've really enjoyed your how to videos and can't wait to see what you do on the TV show. Keep it up. Also if you mentioned it, sorry, but you should do a maiden voyage over landing video once you have the truck done!

Being in Alabama, we have ridiculous heat also, so I air conditioned my garage. I won't send pics to compete with other folks battling heat solutions. Looking forward to the next installment!

What a great idea! I’ll never rebuild an engine but I might try something like this project. We’re spending the summer in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the high today on August 13 was about 66 degrees so I probably don’t need the fan but I’m sure many of your subscribers need it desperately. It doesn’t surprise me that your automatic transmission how to had a million views, you do excellent how to videos. Thanks

I’m totally stoked I have a third gen TRD off-road “pre runner” that I am setting up for overland “light” activities and I watch the myriad of KZfaq builds and I live in Tampa would’ve liked to have met you and Brandon while you were here maybe on the trail in Big Bend soon 😊👍🏻

Faye. Exciting, this will be my new favorite series on your channel. Previously, it was the grim repo from the salvage yard. I own a 2000 4Runner and 2014 Tacoma Sport so hits close to home.

Faye! OMG Thank you so much for these videos! I have the exact same truck as a prerunner and used your previous Tacoma Vids to keep up with the maintenance and the dreaded timing chain engine leak! I thought I’d have to sell my truck thinking if the 2wd limits and age, but stuck it out. Thanks for all these videos as we overland with it too and haven’t looked back! Keep it up!

Pretty sure they can since it looks like the same axle from the tacoma front axle.

This looks like a future 4wd conversion. If you decide to do this just replace the front wheel bearing/hub assembly with 4wd so you have the splines in them. Then source your transmission ,front diff, new front axle shafts(oe are the best choice unless rcv) and d-shafts. To take headache out of the conversion get the add harness from 12th state off road($125) This will engage the front diff. You will want a manual t-case from an Fj cruiser. If you can source the trans/t-case from an Fj would be just bolt it to the motor. Going this route you will eliminate a bunch electronic crap that has to all work together.

It's the base base BASE model Prerunner. Literally started from the bottom! We are gonna do GREAT THINGS with it!!!

You could always convert the front to a 4wd fro t diff and axles. And add a low range transfer case and trans. It's expensive but if you love that car it's worth jt

Really enjoyed the Video Faye! Can’t wait to see the All Girls Garage show on Brandon’s truck. I am in the process of restoring my first gen Tacoma pre-runner. So far I have have done new spark plugs and wires. I have also done new SPC upper control arms and Bilstein 6112 coil overs. I have done the drivers side lower control arm bushing replacement and lower ball joints and outer tie rods. I have done new steering rack bushings also. While replacing the lower control arm bushings the control arm got away from me and I dropped it on my foot and broke my big toe. This is why I haven’t done the passenger side yet. That new fan would help with that when I’m all healed up. Lol. Anyway I did all this with a lot of help from your videos ….big thanks for that.

Truck stops have up to 3000 watt power inverters and all kinds of good cooking things I cook in my rig all the time and you can easily run a good microwave with an inverter but I would suggest a pretty good alternator to handle that load

Love this video. I have 2008 pre-runner. Old Red as 270k on him still running strong. This is the first truck where I have done a lot of my own work. Changed upper and lower ball joints and struts few months back. The lower ball joints was a pain, only because the tool that you rent from O’Reillys did not have the right sleeves. Can’t wait to see Final product on y’all’s build.

Nice one Faye and Brandon.great idea,so many car people love camping. I would look into your suspension and GVM,some people Under estimate the weight they can carry legally. The factory GVM is not that big. You had me at cold beer. 😎🍺👍🇦🇺

@@FayeHadley I'm from Australia the 4wd culture here is insane. So I'm almost 100% sure that it's going to have to be 4wd to make it a capable rig, if you are going to be 4wding diff locks front and rear are going to save you. Get a auto locker for the front as it's cheap and a airllocker at the rear. A big one is a throttle controller. Also I'm fan Girling so hard that you replied. Love from the oz
