Meanwhile, they could have just added a flywheel battery to the Starter mechanism so don't even have to use the main starter..A Bendix Used to be a Separate component to replace...

Your theory is good. Your technique could use some work. Latching the hood latch on many vehicles doesn't do anything - they have a plunger switch on the core support. And instead of doing that finnagle with trying to lift the battery cable off the post while attaching your alligator to the post, install a back feed into a spare hot at all times fuse in the fuse block put your meter from that back feed to the battery cable. Then pull the main fuse on cars equipped, or lift the fuse supply cable off the fuse block on cars without a main fuse. No finnagle required.

You can bypass it by going into manual mode

Engines are DOOMED due to Uncle Sam's boot on the necks of OEMs to achieve infinite MPG and Zero Emissions by yesterday. It seems like consumers haven't got enough sense to realize that 0W-8 cannot be IDEAL for both subzero temps during Minnesota winter, and blast furnace conditions during Arizona summers. Ridiculous!

Great job , another tool may consider space is available a torque multiplier it has saved me many times ,I got a 4 to 1 torque multiplier it's a night day diffarence the torque you get from one
