Each day there is something church related. When you go to be married, you are asked, "where did you serve?" Your worth is determined by your resume of callings. The temple interview questions force one to lie. I have never been LDS, but I know that I am not worthy of the gift of salvation. There is no calling, no ordinance that I can do, no recommend card, no firm testimony given that can make me worthy. My worth was determined when The Messiah died on the cross that the LDS deny.

“Listening to a bunch of old people who would rather me be dead than be me.” You guys I love how lighthearted this video is but this line hit me so hard. I am/was? (Still don’t know how to say this) a convert to the church at 19. I went on a mission at 21 and had such an awful experience that it took me a year after being home to step away from the church. And that was because I was literally planning my own suicide out of the guilt I felt of not being enough. I’m in a better place now, a year away from church, but I still suffer from extreme anxiety and depression that started on my mission. Today this video brought me comfort knowing that I’m not completely alone. Thank you. 💘

If it's not too personal, could you do a video about being an ex-mormon and the law of chastity? It's such a heavily weighted aspect of the LDS faith, so when a person leaves, it's difficult to deprogram what's right and what's wrong. And it can seriously affect new relationships or self-identity/ self-esteem. I love your channel by the way. Thanks for everything and keep up the good work!

This is the first conference since I declared my “apostasy”. Watched the morning and afternoon sessions at home with my wife and kids. The judgmental tone against doubters and non believers really stood out to me. I don’t take things personally, but if I did I think I would be offended. I feel like they talk more about policy and procedure than Jesus, which isn’t new to me. That has been a beef of mine for years before my apostasy was declared. Yesterday was the first priesthood session I didn’t need a fake emergency to avoid. So that was nice. I hope they okay coffee and tea, how could anyone not question that?

When people force others to do things freedom is anulled whether it is by one, many;organizations, or creed, etc. Tell them you prefer not to and that you have your free agency. I mean if you want to great, but if not then, they need to respect that. Jesus does not force a person to Heaven. He said Chose ye this day...Come follow me, but NOT do it OR else mentality. Logan Lyric, Jesus needs all the bullies he can get to force his plan (Saint'nism)... Gotta force em aallaall, forciMon. Yep, FAIRisees drive kids right out of the church of Saint'n. I'm now glad my inlaws and ex forced my kids while abusing, bullying and acting like FAIRisees, which paid off nicely - drove most of them out. My two active sons have very smart open wives who will catch the lies and contradictions which will most likely wake them up. I was actually super active at the time but would not force or even guilt my kids for going or Not going with me or listening to conference of not. Maybe that actually backfired because that kept 2 kids in the church. I just started seeing too many problems, just from reading the book of Mormon so many times. After 40 or 50 readings you start saying, "Hey, this book is warning against all of these things in Mormonism, esp the top unaccountable double standard leaders who need not be honest in their dealing, sustain Christ or pay their tithing on income/compensation from the trillion dollar corporation of "Christ." Be sure to read the BoM and highlight all the scriptures which testify against today's LDS church practices, and all the scriptures that show how we and our leaders should act. Why are we paying for salvation and focusing on things for show that don't matter - Mormon 8: 32-41? I find David Bokovoy very interesting on the natural fabrication of all scriptures (Mormon Stories episode 1019, on youtube). I find it very interesting to study scripture-writing history and the roots and reasons men (not god) wrote it all. I still find much good from that too despite the garbage mixed in from it all being written and changed by men and not god. This and Mormon history study (not by apologists who justify all that is not of Christ, but ordered by Christ) clarify how men naturally act and what fruits Jesus was saying to watch out for and why he warned against "ravening leaders in fine wool suits" blindly leading (forcing, shaming, threatening, punishing...) the blind into the ditch. The best parts of Jesus in the bible (not in the Gospel of John - loads of very contradictory exaggerated additions to the real Jesus by "John") are great, as Jesus tells us how to stop following men and cults and how to identify their pompous ways, which you must revere, sing hymns to and never question. Some good bible scholars have identified all the best parts of the most likely real Jesus and which parts are from pompous controllers contradicting each other. I like Dr. Bart Ehrman for an intro to this (youtube), though it goes much deeper and can be faith crushing or faith promoting to have all the crap cleared away and just the good parts left and understanding hows it came to be and changed and changed... I actually hated the bible for a while, over finding the truth of how it was actually written and changed, but then I learned that I really like the very different God and Jesus even more now that my eyes were opened to them with their zero guilting, shaming, coercing, punishing, abusing, bullying (Not Good News, Gospel). I now love how Jesus artfully describes the Pharisees (church leaders today too) as dogs, swine, mote pickers, blind guides, whited sepulchers, wolves, vipers, and tells us to examine their actual "fruits" to know the real them and that they are not of him, that the works/fruits that these frauds do in his name and in our father's name to force their own twisted works onto all. Matt 7 and 15 and 23 covers the bulk of these rather credible looking warnings of what and whom are the bad and forcing leaders, which are not promoting his plan of agency, love and good deeds he also spell out. I like the way the real parts of Jesus in the bible written by men describes his and our Father (whom he says we are one with) whom he describes as loving, forgiving, giving and Not at all the angry jealous, genocidal, A-ho.. "god" Satan who dominates much of the old testament after the adoring real godS created us (a couple hundred thousands years ago in the real Garden of Edin in Sumerian/Babylon records from which the bible borrowed heavily, including just one source of the unreal changes to Jesus). I love how Jesus says that angry, genocidal forcing god is the father of those Pharisees who follow, worship and act just like him. All of that seems to fly right over the heads of enforcer "Christians" for some odd reason, as Jesus said it would? I just don't see any church promoting just the good or true parts, real admonitions and warnings without becoming jerks which the real Jesus warned of over and over. Most Christians aren't very Christian, and the Church of Kirton McConkie of Latter day Saint'nism fares no better than any other Pharisaical "Christian" church which the real Jesus deplored (Matt 7: 20-24). He had some very amazing truths which only certain other leaders before him had too - don't let men enslave your mind, only the real truths will set you free from them.

I'm not allowed to go anywhere on Sundays and I'm not allowed to have any sort of screens. My parents have the volume up all the way, so the only place I can go where I can't hear it is my room upstairs with the door closed. I can't talk to my friends or watch my shows or do anything, and if I make the slightest noise downstairs, my parents, and even my younger siblings, will tell me to be quiet because they "can't hear general conference". My parents leave me with 2 options: Listen to old people talk about how much I'm lost and depressed and inferior or be shut up in my room all day with no one to talk to and no entertainment. Mormons don't realize how damaging their beliefs are to themselves and others.

Recap of April 2019 General Conference: One can't earn blessings, that's fundamentally wrong, instead they must be worked for and one must qualify for them. Apparently there is a difference? Blessings have no time table, so no one knows when they will be answered, or they may be answered in the next life, so one must just endure. The apocalypse is going to happen so fortify yourself against Satan. No news on when though, but trust us it's coming. You life may be horrendous due to illness, depression, losing a child or other such terrible tragedies, and even though God has the power to intervene and warn and help those that again, "Qualify" for blessings, as shared by other speakers, he sometimes wont intervene to stop tragedy from happening, but if you get a blessing then you will walk away with "Joy" and understanding of how great God is and how merciful he can be, even if your child dies in a horrible snow mobile accident; however; it may take a life time to feel better again or it may take the next life to be healed. Oh, and some old temples are going to be remodeled. Amen.

So, I’ve been watching you guys for a while, and I can’t tell if whether you’re in a relationship or just friends? I’m confused. Hope you can clarify for me

So nice to see ex-mormans sharing with us all. I am an ex morman woman who has little or no contact just now. I relate to how it feels so lonely and that one is missing the whole morman experience at this time. I don't miss it now. I am appalled at the whole pack of lies. So good to see that the truth is coming out; that they are just a flock of old men deciding on ideas they have and then calling it revelations.

I’m a Catholic (not by choice) and I wore shorts (with a button down and dress flats) and no one would talk to me. I feel like if Jesus was real, he wouldn’t care.
@bobbq83805 жыл бұрын
I was catholic, not by choice as most babies born into catholic families, too. So glad and relieved I left drug and whordom ravaged catholicism. Don't see that issue in even ex mormonism.

Just heard her tell my younger sister that she has to listen to the entire conference and take notes and if she doesn't, she's grounded for the week. She has plans to see an old friend this week. My younger sister is 12 and is already having doubts. She doesn't want to listen to conference but I don't know what to tell her. She doesn't quite have the freedom I do as a 17 y/o. I and my 3 older siblings have left and I personally "converted" (I don't like the term but it gets the point across) to Secular Wicca/secular witchcraft.

My TBM wife is watching conference, and this was genuinely the only time in my life that I have been excited to watch it because I can’t wait to hear what whack-a-doo stuff they come out with this year. It’s ironic that I can finally enjoy conference weekend

When Sam was saying about how when other cults start relaxing the rules they think it will help with the numbers but it really doesn’t, I was thinking, “Shhhhh! Shut the hell up (lol), don’t give them tips!” I’m just teasing, great video.

The only reason I like General Conference was that I didnt need to get dressed up and go into church. I could just chill all day with the Tv turned off 😂

I'm interested in how Tanner and his family work...I mean, as far as I know, he's the only one who left, so how do you maintain a close relationship with friends or family that are members?

There should be one massive group chat for ex-Mormons. I don't really know any ex-Mormons and it would make me feel less alone when I'm surrounded by the Mormon culture.

Ex-mormon, ex-missonary here. I did not like Bednar at all. And that was the reason I cut my last tie to the Mormon church. I don't like him and I was told I was a bad person for saying so.

I don't know any Mormon more devote that my mother-in-law and I can tell you if they made coffee acceptable in General Conference, she would be at Starbucks that day making up for all those lost cups.

I grew up in Logan. Absolutely hated it, it's a very toxic mormon area. I finally put my foot down with my mother about me not believing about a year ago. She's still not taking it well... oof.

I went to Hawaii and was with my family for general conference I just ate a lot and played games on my phone haha:p I didn’t even realize I would be there during it when I went and spent time with them:p it was fun having my son meet them and love them but I realize they only watch a few movies and shows because they are wholesome:p my mom made me sleep instead of take Tylenol for my headache:p I was like I can babysit my baby if I take meds:p they are pretty anti medicine:p

class action, call Sam Young. We're taking it all the way. I know a dork who loves to go to conferences in Las Vegas of tort lawyers. They will be forced to refund tithing if it's the last thing I do. I will be happy to settle my case out of court. I can count all the things I've lost. The Muslims ALWAYS have treated me better than the Mormons.

The whole "dressing in your finest things for the lord" is huge in Catholicism too. We'd hear all about how Jesus loved the poor and how we should be simple and not try to be fancy while sitting in an ornate, ridiculously expensive-looking church in fancy clothes. Huge cognitive dissonance there.

I went to the zoo with my husband and my son on Saturday... oddly, our my very Mormon mother in law joined us, along with my not so Mormon (but still obviously indoctrinated) brother in law and my nephew who sadly is in the process of being indoctrinated. On Sunday I grilled up some hot dogs and burgers and invited a bunch of friends over, the TV did not get turned on at all that day. If it weren't for my sister in law making such a big deal about how our niece was going to her first conference, I'd have almost forgotten it was conference weekend (which honestly, I think was the best part about moving far away from Salt Lake, I don't have that twice a year reminder of everything I went through while I was in the church).
