"Every bootfucked marine knows danger close" - No. The proper insult is: "Even a 15-yearold computer geek knows what danger close is". And in case someone out there doesn't understand what danger close means: Danger means death in this situation. And Close is because artillery rounds - even guided ones such as Bofors BONUS rounds - drift depending on wind and temperature. An artillery piece is miles behind friendly lines. A single inch/centimeter difference when firing means hundreds of yards in the target area. Hence; Danger, Close.

Pelican1984 It’s an age old tactic. Officers call air strikes insanely danger close, right on top of the heads of their men so they (the officers) can get medals and accolades. The best officer is a prior enlisted officer.
@22steve51505 жыл бұрын
@@MultiTrollNation I used to know a couple of old Vietnam vets who served together in the same platoon, they made it clear that back when they were in, there was Junior officers who didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground but at least knew enough to consult with their senior NCOs and learn on the job, and there was the ones who not only didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground but also believed they knew it all and would not listen to their senior NCOs. They talked about their second platoon leader (first PL was injured in a rollover and went stateside for a few months to recover) and how their platoon sergeant drew his sidearm on the officer and told him to sit down and shut up or die after this dipshit ordered bayonets fixed and a frontal charge at an MG position after being told he couldn't get an arty strike and would have to wait near 30 minutes for air support to be freed up from other operations. I love how everything coming out of Sixta's mouth is hilariously hammy to EVERYONE other than people he is speaking to.

Having been through CBRN recently, watching the reporter fuck up his MOPP suit made me laugh more than it should.

Well, he's the only real shithead in a company of over a hundred men...so if he's everything wrong with America then America is doing pretty well.

@@youdoitillwatch That guy who tried to call in an artillery strike on insurgents that were 200 meters away is pretty fucking stupid too, and of course Sixta turned out to be a child molester.

I loved the stories of the British RAF pilots working alongside USAF in the Gulf...the British do not have these weird facial hair restrictions and the US officers lost their shit on them...of course the Brits grew huge bike handle mustaches haha too funny.

That generation of helmets really did look a lot like Wehrmacht helmets. Back in the day, I never really got why they were called "Fritz Helmet", but now, looking back, being used to different designs, I notice it more.

Just Your Friendly Neighborhood Chaplain Flash backwards. Didn’t a number of the senior guys come FROM Afghanistan to Iraq?
@Gerbs19134 жыл бұрын
@@drak3y The War on Terror seems like they sent troops back and forth, and several veterans served in both countries. I mostly just find it funny that Sixta enforced the grooming standard so harshly, yet now we see guys with full beards. I can see with the threat of gas why they'd have to shave though.
