@@GenericWoodworking Yeah you dont need fancy equipment to even do advanced wood working. Basic plane, drill, couple chisels, hand saw, box cutter, metal ruler and so on are about 300€ new and you can build 3-4K€ custom table in two room apartment building just fine, if you outsource wood cutting to place you buy the plywood (and dude cutting actually cares to serve customer, so give very specific dimensions first and measure them so those are inside your tolerances before committing into main cut list and next time ask the same guy) and surface finish if you got with spraygun finish like i did on the layer. How ever i do disagree with neglecting your equipment. Sure i get it, but simple things like metal files you can clean with metal brush and box cutter blade clean, then acid sharpen them with inexpensive citric acid, technically same thing with hand saw, but havent tested saws yet. With the file, you can shape the chisel, and finish it with diamond file and lapping compound in peace of leather glued to wood peace. Simple and cheap ways to get essentially free tools from people that are too lazy or stupid to sharpen them. Even cheap chinese crap tools are fine long as you realize that will be lots of sharpening you will be doing, but there is no bladed tool that does not require sharpening, except maybe box cutter. Get set of cheap chisels and then one or two mid price range. Cheap ones to beat and bulk material removal and expensive to finish and fine tune. Lacking space to do things is just a excuse as you can do many many projects even large ones in any place. It will just mean more cleaning and most likely after every day and during that. Small table edge vise with soft jaws you can make your self are fine for beginners for smaller stuff even in a room. If you live in city, roam around your area and specifically your apartment building. There well might be areas you do not even know about that are suitable for this kind of things, like i found attic space where there was already some stuff like sofas and light bulb, hence with some engineering you might able to get power for smaller power tools, but since its common area cant really put up your shop there permanently, but its fine place to do little sanding and painting. Magic of hand tools come to play there since no need for electricity then. Nice sunny day and you can do lots in the balcony if you have one. Where there is a will there is a way. For your blunt router bits. Those can be dangerous since its not sharp enough to cut and can catch instead. Run away router going 20k rpm aint fun.. i know from personal experience. I would suggest using diamond file to sharpen them. This way you dont remove too much material at once and fuck up the balance, but for your own sake well as preventing what you experienced get those bits sharpened. Its something you can do with table edge vise while listening some hour long video/audiobook.

Yes!! I used this exact technique on my super tiny V8 model. This build was so much more brutal than anything I’ve worked on before though. Usually when my mechanisms jam they just stop moving, but with this one it just annihilates whatever tries to stop it (like the metal bolt). No amount of superglue would help the wooden parts survive those situations. The only thing you can do is try to make sure nothing gets stuck…

You can practically use wood, a not too expensive material to establish a culture of engineering and ingenuity. Hopefully, it'll come to life.
