@@123domo8 In all honesty, purely biologically speaking, is it even possible for carbon life and silicate/lithoid life to crossbreed at all? Are they not fundamentally incompatible? From what I know it should be about as successful as a rock mating with a squirrel. If it is possible at all, it would propably require heavy medical intervention to be safely and healthily concieved, carried and birthed, as well.

@@anathardayaldar I also thought gargoyle when the wings were brought up, but my first conjecture was golem. It took me to the end to figure it out. But to be fair to myself, when you hear silcone-based life form your first reaction isn't "dragon".

@@BrunoMaricFromZagreb Tholians are a race ofiginaly introduced in a classic Star Trek episode and later used a couple more times in shows since around the early 2000s. Fascinating creatures that live in environments we really would classify as "hell planets" like the story.

The dictionary was put together by other aliens who did a poor job of it. And considering the galactic prejudices I wouldn't be surprised if the omission was intentional.

With the density of the Venusian atmosphere, I bet it would not be long at all before we started renting flying apartments. We're already looking to make floating baloon platforms. But colonizing Venus would absolutely hit the back burner when FTL is discovered. We would likely have put a research platform in Venus' upper atmosphere, but with the whole galaxy suddenly opened up to us, yeah. Let the Dragons have it. And, considering that the Human Ambassador already has a suit that can apparently handle their habitat, it wouldn't be long before we were riding them... That is, if they allow us.

You know good and well it would be a double money maker, Venus would be like Sandals resorts for the dragons, and they would make a competition using humans as weights. Then humans would purchase "tickets" to "ride" as the Dragons had their X-Games in the sky.

You realize that the surface pressure on Venus is 92 times as high as on earth don't you approx 1350 psi). Where do you get low pressure?

Oldie but a goodie. The idea of giving a home and hospitality to someone rejected by everyone else brings a tear to my eye, as long as they are eternally grateful. Do that to humans and they eventually take you for granted and then get all entitled and the next thing you know, they declare war on you.

As long as it would take to develop an enviro-suit with the right levels of flexibility, _and_ (armored) protection vs high heat, and air pressure. TBH, we're probably talking about light powered armor.

I absolutely LOVE how the Narrator tells these stories. Its both relaxing and engaging at the same time. Ive been listening to these stories at work for a few months now (oil field type work) and they really make the 80 plus hours a week go by much more quickly.

A number of experts are of the mind that either terraforming Venus or building floating cities in the upper atmosphere would be easier or more sustainable than trying to colonize Mars. Good news for the dragons is that the latter idea is perfectly compatible with them living there.

this story remind me of Bubbleverse by u/ack1308 but opposed to this the aliens humanity find in that story are super cold.
