I'm thinking having my kids homeschool potentially and I personally need an open and go offline curriculum. This looks AMAZING and it's biblical based!!!

Thank you for replying so quickly! Wow! That speak volumes then to the curriculum! We are using Five in a Row and love it! I also love the way this looks and love the Biblical aspect so much! Would it be too much to do both? We already do have a language arts/grammar so may not use that part, but not sure! Any advice would be wonderful!

You mentioned using this for your 1st grader...does the student need to know how to read prior to using it?
@EducationalRoots
@EducationalRoots 6 жыл бұрын
Kari Quick No, they do not need to know how to read. Though if they are not yet reading/writing they likely won't be able to do the workbook pages and writing assignments. A junior version is in the process of being made, but I have no idea when that will be done. The content will sometimes be over a first graders head, but I simply include her because I have the older girls. If your first grader is your oldest, then I'd likely wait. But if they are not your oldest then I would have then join in and skip any workbook pages or writing and just have them answer questions orally.

Does level D work book have spaces them answer all A,B,C,D questions? My child currently would be level C but I'm wondering if I got level D workbook instead, couldn't I just used the same work book 2 yr in a row? Or get him level D now just incase he's more advanced than level C
@EducationalRoots
@EducationalRoots Жыл бұрын
Yes, level D answers all the A, B, and C questions. You wouldn’t work through the same book two years in a row.

Do you just do your daily reading and discussion, copywork, and then add math? Or do you are more?
@EducationalRoots
@EducationalRoots 6 жыл бұрын
It is designed to do all the reading, discussion, writing assignment (whether worksheet or actual writing-it will prompt you), practice spelling words (we use mini white boards), any experiments or activities scheduled for that day, etc. Basically you just follow along with the lesson for the day and do what it says. The main curriculum (not math) takes around 45 minutes to an hour. Then add math and reading. But we do other things as well, since I need my kids to work independently for a portion of the day. We don't do the Greek.

Do you think Mine for math is enough for a school year? Or would they need other math curriculum?
@EducationalRoots

Michelle Channell Yes, it’s intended to be a full curriculum BUT she does recommend you add in daily fact practice. She has practice books but you could also just use xtramath.org

A lot of people do both Easy Peasy and A Mind for Math, just because both programs are so different but that’s not necessary.

How is GC math different from EP math? Which one would you recommend for my 1 grader? Thank you for wonderful review, it was so helpful as usual!
@EducationalRoots
@EducationalRoots 6 жыл бұрын
Marina Soliman Oh, they're completely different lol! Mind for Math is "random" topics. So it's not like EP where it focuses on one thing, then the next thing, etc. Also, it deals more with critically thinking to understand the why more. It also has more word problems (but they don't need to necessarily read because the parent is reading it). I also feel like Mind for Math is a little advanced in level A. My first grade daughter will be doing Mind for Math B and EP Math 2. But she is really Math minded. She is autistic and just really loves numbers. EP Math will be her independent work and Mind for Math together work. My 3rd grader will also be using Mind for Math C.
