Airbus A319 approach over Lake Geneva and landing during sunrise on runway 22 at Geneva airport in Switzerland. GVA / LSGG. Cockpit and pilots view, with audio. Produced in 4k with 4 cameras. ATC callsign is Eurowings 89Y. The captain is pilot flying and the first officer in the right seat is pilot monitoring.

Geniales Video, vielen Dank dafür! Vor allem die SIcht auf das Overhead Panel ist sehr hilfreich. Ein Departure Video mit so einer Einstellung wäre super!

Vielen Dank fürs gute Feedback! Departure Videos sind im Vergleich zu Anflugvideos leider weniger beliebt. Ich behalte den Vorschlag trotzdem im Hinterkopf und schaue, ob wir demnächst mal einen interessanten Abflug veröffentlichen können.

Lovely approach - beautiful morning over the Lake. It seemed to be a very slow approach, but I heard you say there was a strong headwind

Thanks for watching and the feedback. The airplane was light so the approach speed on short final was not that fast. On the ground the wind was almost calm. I do not remember the wind over the lake in the descent.

I just watched the video again and heard us saying 34 knots of headwind. So - for sure - that made the approach really slow because the headwind reduces the groundspeed.

Schönes Video Landeanflug auf dem Flughafen Genf danke das Du uns mitgenommen hast. Ich frage mich Genf hat eine besondere Lage Genf umgibt zu drei Seiten die Republik Frankreich muss man ein spezielles Anflugverfahren durchführen? Nochmal vielen Dank.

Vielen Dank fürs Lob! Es gibt für Genf spezielle An- und Abflug Verfahren. Für mich erwecken sie den Eindruck, dass sie in erster Linie die Nähe zu den Bergen berücksichtigen. Meist werden bei der Gestaltung solcher Verfahren auch Lärmschutzvorgaben oder Absprachen mit den im Anflug überflogenen Ländern berücksichtigt. In wieweit das auch bei Genf erfolgt ist, kann ich nicht beantworten.

I thought some auto brake setting (low or medium) was always preselected prior to landing, but that seems not to be the case, I now realise.

The pilot flying decides if he or she wants to use autobrake or not. Usually, we use autobrake most of the time. On long runways in combination with light airplanes, we may keep it off.
