Ai noh sät it dassnd mättah, batt se inglisch pronanziäschn drägs mieh se schuus off.

Hello captain, amazing video as always. I have a question. Is there anu particular reason to use manual thrust instead of auto thrust in this approach?
@ApproachandDepartureVideosКүн бұрын
The decision is done by the pilot flying. We have to be able to fly with autothrust and with manual thrust. To stay proficient and current, we need to do both on a regular basis.

Excellent video and good landing - you deserve a Krugbier after coping with those gusty conditions. I spend time here in Basingstoke in a full-size 737 simulator; it's not easy to maintain the approach speed and path accurately. How often do you glance at the instruments to check the speed, or is it all done by feel and experience?
@ApproachandDepartureVideos2 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and for your financial support of the channel as a member! We do not fly by feelings. Instead, we continuously scan the instruments and adjust thrust levers and the sidestick as needed. We do not always include the exact power setting of the engine in the scan. If we are getting slow or too low, we just add thrust as needed. The amount of required change of the thrust levers is done in regard to the own experience.

Can someone tell me why they had to wait 3 minutes after touch down for engine shutoff?

Cooldown time for the engines. If we would shutdown earlier and do this frequently, we may damage the engines.

@@quedos44 The number of flights is variable. Some days, we do 2 flights and at other days, we do 4 flights. Destinations also vary a lot. My basic destinations are Samos, Funchal and Salzburg. They require special training and we have to fly there on a regular basis.

What an approach! Beautifully smooth given how you were being buffeted by the wind. The cameras focused on the instrument panels - are they new? The images are crystal clear! Apologies if this has been asked and answered, why do you have to wait a certain time from landing to shutting down the engines? Thanks for another great video! 🇦🇹🛫🌍🛬🇩🇪🧑🏻✈️
@ApproachandDepartureVideos3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and your great feedback! The instrument panel camera is not new. It was just placed at a different position, closer to the screens. The good thing is that the picture is much better to read. The bad thing is that there are way more reflections on the screens in comparison to the old camera position. On sunny days, it may be very difficult due to the reflections. I will continue to work on this to get the best possible solution for future videos!.

@ApproachandDepartureVideos3 күн бұрын

The First Officer was clearly under intense pressure since you could hear hik breathing heavily at 16:11
@ApproachandDepartureVideos3 күн бұрын
I would not call it intense pressure. I would say he was highly concentrated and had to work hard on the sidestick and the thrustlevers to keep the plane on track. This - for sure - increases the pulse and the breathing frequency.

@ApproachandDepartureVideos3 күн бұрын
Paul, thanks for watching! Yes, the weather looked awful. But it was much better than forecasted. The forecast showed in addition to the wind some bad thunderstorms for our arrival time. This was also the reason for the large amount of extra fuel. Many greetings to Kent!
