Oil painting is a highly intellectual art that only the most superior of our race are able to perform properly. My friends, do not be afraid. I know this little world of art can be scary but I am here to educate you to the fullest and equip you with greatness by slaying your artistic enemies.
This skull still life painting was done in 4 hours but it will last throughout the ages and I have no doubt it will change the way civil society will forever think about art. If you are still reading at this point, I have to be honest and say I didn't expect anyone to read past the word "oil" so I will take this opportunity to trail off....

how does this video has under 1000 views, solid work and even wittier writing. I feel like everyone else just talks about "good habbits of painters"," eye anatomy" and somewhat obscure stuff for observational painting. I hope this channel and the video takes off soon enough. Not the most helpful video but is the one liked best so fat in maybe 200 videos...

I would love to know what your colour palette is?

On average: ivory black, ultramarine blue, alizarin crimson, cadmium red, yellow ochre, and cremnitz white. With this particular painting you could do a limited palette of ivory black, cadmium red, yellow ochre, and cremnitz white. On occasion I will add cobalt blue. It’s good for helping the paints to dry quicker and I also get a nice lighter midtone with it for skin without having to add white. Cobalt blue + ultramarine blue + alizarin crimson + yellow ochre. The blues I use instead of black to push the color. Primarily ultramarine blue.

Windsor & Newton student and professional mostly. I also use Princeton hog hairs and synthetics. Hog hair is nice for the brushy affect and synthetics work if you want a crisp brush stroke.
