TikTok: / hanzagod_1
Gennady Golovkin - Is a Kazakhstani professional boxer. He has held multiple middleweight world championships, and is a two-time former unified champion. He held the WBA (Super), WBC and IBF titles at varying points between 2014 and 2023, and challenged once for the undisputed super middleweight championship in 2022. A calculating pressure fighter, Golovkin is known for his exceptionally powerful and precise punching, balance, and methodical movement inside the ring. One of my favorite fighters of the last 15 years! GGG in his prime was a special combination of devastating power and underrated boxing IQ. When you talk about fighters that just have that "it" factor, Golovkin had that in spades for me and I loved watching him dominate the Middleweight division year after year. I just wish he could have got the big fights much sooner in his career, I'd have loved to see him in there with Sergio Martinez, Cotto, Ward etc maybe even Canelo but in his prime. Either way an incredible talent and a great career. GGG at his devastating best! www.patreon.com/haNZAgod

One of the most avoided fighters in the last 20 years. I’m convinced the last fight with Canelo was a gentleman’s agreement. A set up. You don’t hurt me I won’t hurt you. It was a waltz. Both made millions for going through the motions. If they had fought in GGG prime he KO’s the boy.

GGG was still in his prime when he fought Canelo. It’s a complete myth that he was past it, it was after the second Canelo fight where he had very noticeably lost a step but during the Canelo fights, he was still an elite fighter. Proven by the Vanes Matyrosian fight which was sandwiched between the Canelo fights; GGG looked every bit as devastating as he did in his so called “prime years” when he was whooping B/C level fighters like Prozka, Macklin, Stevens, Rubio and Gaele, etc…Fact of the matter is, GGG stopped looking unstoppable once he stepped up his competition and started fighting A level boxers. Absolutely nothing to do with him being “past prime” as he wasn’t yet.

@@RaulRamirez-jv4rn Not everyone can be Sugar Ray Robinson but calling Daniel Gaele, who defeated not one but two current middleweight champions to become a unified middleweight champion "B/C level" is insulting. The whole "B-level" and "second string" lingo from people in the comment section who never made their high school team gets old after awhile. Who else was he supposed to fight at middleweight? People bitch because he never stepped up in weight to fight say Andre Ward but neither did Hagler and he's somehow always called the greatest Middleweight of all time. If you observe his technique, he always has a solid base and total balance, which is why he generates so much power and also why he has never been knocked down. Even when stalking and moving forward with combos, he never leans too much. I taught myself how to box and I can give work to amateurs with more experience than me inside of gyms simply by understanding balance and weight transfer, which he does beautifully. He is one to study if you actually want to box. It takes a keen eye to see how special he was bc he's not flashy at all. People underestimate or often don't even understand how entirely fundamental balance and weight transfer/shifting is in boxing. He boxes from his feet as does anyone who truly understands it, but he has the best base and balance I've ever seen.
@MetaversalSouljah
@MetaversalSouljah 7 ай бұрын
It's funny bc casuals or people who don't box will say he has no footwork just bc he doesn't pivot and dance all the time lol. They don't understand the precision in "staying heavy" and shifting the weight at the precise moment to generate immense power. And "staying heavy" keeps you from getting knocked over, defensively.

I'm not 100% sure of this, but if you notice, GGG always causes a knockout at close range. The knockout shot always has the entire forearm behind the fist. He doesn't reach for strikes, he doesn't throw wild overhands with an outstretched arm. I think this is where his power comes from. His willingness to commit to this kind of in the pocket striking gives him a very high KO ratio, but it doesn't translate to moving up weightclasses because it doesn't allow him to utilize his full reach, nor is it very mobile

GGG was 35 and 36 in their first two fights. No middleweight fighter is going to tell you that they were physically the same or better at 35 compared to say 30 years old. On top of that these Eastern Europeans often have extensive amateur careers, Golovkin had shy of 400 amateur fights. I guess so but most MMA fighters would not do well crossing over to Boxing, they're 2 different sports. I hate these types of fights anyway, MMA fighters should stay in MMA, boxers should stay in Boxing. That's how I like it.

Lol. Yeah because Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran, or sugar Ray weren’t on golovkin level. Hell Golovkin would have had a hard time with mugabi, Roldan, or antuofermo. Hagler would have beat golovkin convincingly. Golovkin was weak to the body and struggled with Canelo on the inside. Hagler would have worn him down.

I don't think it's Golovkin's fault that the Middleweight division wasn't strong enough for him to be considered in that all time great status, I've seen a lot of people say he's in or around the top 15 and I think that's a fair placement for him due to his dominance.

That doesn't mean he's not an all time great because you don't rate him over those fighters. I think most would agree that Golovkin is more than likely a top 15 all time Middleweight. Is he top 5? Of course not but he was still a great fighter and I'm confident he would more than hold his own against many of the best.

You watch that and you realise the reputation of GGG was built on beating up a whole load of nobodies. Great fighter, no doubt. He proved that fighting guys like Jacobs & Canelo, , but the prime GGG was promoted terribly in Germany. He should have been in with the top guys by his 10th fight instead of the padding that went on. His 30th fight before he faced even a former world champion.

Can you really blame a fighter for having a thin resume when the other top fighters don't want to fight him though? While certainly not great wins I thought his performances against the likes of Lemieux, Stevens, Macklin, Murray etc were fantastic not only that he beat them but the way he did it. Of course it hurts his place historically but he was still a fantastic fighter and he'd hold his own against a lot of great 160 lbers imo.

@@harambe1596 GGG was still in his prime when he fought Canelo.
