I agree with the character involvement, rn genshin characters are pretty much being carried by the community, the interaction and stuff is being made by the community (the one that doesn't appear in the main story) they could've make more event with the characters or heck just do world quest with characters, doesn't even have to be voice, but that'll be fun to see them once in a while, especially the "must do" world quest

The one thing that would drive me crazy about the idea of a through line of quests is that would lock stories behind each other... TBH if I had to do Lyney and Navia's SQ to unlock Wrio and each subsequent character because of a story connection I would be BEYOND pissed. like I HATED that they did that in Inazuma, gating the archon quest part 2 behind Yoimiya and Ayaka's SQs and the more the stories are connected the more that kind of shit would happen. If I love character X, I want to play THEIR SQ, not to have to wade through others to get to them, or to understand the references in it.

I do want more skin tone variety with Genshin characters. Heck my first impression of that shark girl, her enthusiastic personality, big eyes and short girl model reminded me a bit of Tamera from Fire Emblem Engage, and I was hoping Genshin could do something like that. But I won't send death threats to Hoyo for choosing to make their characters with light skin either. They can do it, just look at Kaeya, Dehya, and Sethos. But let them cook a little longer or just wait for all of Natlan to be released, they might release them later.

18:00 I personally disagree, as far as I could tell, there was no connection between Arlecchino's sq and the main story. Furina's focused on her life and what she wanted to do now that she was no longer the archon, and the troupe's leader was one of the victims of the vacher case. Of course, you can argue that its about the archon, ofc it would have special treatment and extra care put into writing the story for it. In that case, Navia's focused on trying to recover after the incident in Poisson, went more into depth about her relationship with her father, and also how to move on without silver and melus always by her side

You're so right about the character involvement. It also doesn't help that they like to put character info in limited time event. Like a while lot of Kaveh's back story in Parade of Providence. Kirara's introduction was in a limited event, the TCG event. Fischl features heavily in the Summer event last time we were at GAA. And Chevreuse too. So much of her backstory is lost to a limited event. This isn't even including characters we are more familiar with like Mona, Kazuha and Albedo. So much of Albedo's story is lost forever. It's frustrating we can't replay limited events. They really did Emilie dirty though, putting her in the banner just before Natlan.

I would pull for Emilie if I hadn't decided to start saving for Natlan characters. I really want that Hydro girl!

Not gonna lie, I wholeheartedly agree with Emilie's voice not being what I expected. For her to be renown in her professions, I would expect her to be and sound more like an adult. Her voice is fine, and I'll adapt, but I still expect an older, more mature voice. I want Navia so bad, but I'm absolutely poor now after using everything I had to beg Furina to come home. I'd like to get Emilie for Deyha, but it's not gonna happen. ...Following footprints reminds me of Don't Starve Together o-o' Boreal Flurry reminds me of Spyro the Dragon. I do want another potions event but with Lisa and Emilie. I do like what they've done for Daily Commissions, but it's just gonna make getting the achievements hidden behind them harder to get since you won't really have to do them if exploring and other quests takes care of your commissions for you. :/ That's like the only drawback I see right now, unless they put a special icon beside the ones that'll lead to said achievements. Lmfao, that voice change for the dialogue review. I got lost during the gliding trial, lmao, and I think my mouse sensitivity was too high at the time, so the zooming confused tf outta me. I would love for some of these collabs be included as areas in the game because I would've loved to hang with Kaveh in a forest and Sigewinne in this aquarium area. I don't think they'll make TCG a physical game until all cards are finalized so there won't have to be so many changes like nerfs and buffs. Natlan's giving me Australia vibes... : o It would be nice to finally get some darker skinned characters that I don't have to kill for materials. Yea, we got Deyha, but she's basically the only one, right? So, I'm hoping for more playable adult looking and sounding characters and characters with darker and/or more diverse skin tones. Maybe one day. This was a fun review. I'd watched the 4.8 video on my own before this but seeing it again with someone that actually plays the game and knows more about it than I do is actually pretty cool. Even cooler because he's/you're actually IN the game as a character, which is super dope.

i agree HoYo is really good at starting stories but sometimes pretty bad at giving them closure. Ace Attorney series is one of the best at making the story cohesive, with some fillers giving clues to the overall bigger plot. I feel like the Fontaine Arc should have a main overarcing story like a "James Moriarty" like villain leaving crumbs behind each part of the quests and we overall at the end have a showdown with them like the reichenbach falls arc in the SHerlock series.

20:00 true, i feel like they can connect the characters better to each other. they could interconnect them in events and the main story and that could be drip marketing in the game. instead of just throwaway character dialogue lines. not sure how far in advance they find the VA's though, but i'm sure most of the characters are designed months in advance, along with the story. 22:48 easy decision, I'm pulling for Navia on my Asia and Yelan on my NA. 49:50 the color palette of their clothes and the tribal markings literally looks like they would fit darker skin, but then a higher up was like, nah. i'm tired of Hoyo only having darker skin for the "enemies"/"uneducated" (Sumeru desert people, i'm looking at you!!) and Arlan, the only dark-skinned character in HSR being literally one of the worst.....there are other game companies in China that have some good darker skinned character designs. there is no excuse.

I saw on twitter that someone made fanart already of the Natlan Dendro guy and she was already getting harassed. Now she's scared to draw more and contemplating of even continuing to make fanart. The poor thing it's not warranted. Yeah I feel bad for Emilie, the timing of her release was not that great and putting her up against one of the most popular chars (gameplay wise) yeah. But I already decided I want Navia since I did go for her the first time due to bad timing also (I had just spent a nice chunk of primos on Neuvillette and Furina). After I get Navia, it'll be awhile before I get anyone next since I'll be in saving mode for a good while. I am looking at the Pyro Archon, hopefully she'll be a DPS unit since I want a Pyro dps I enjoy (I haven't enjoyed any of the other Pyro GPs units because of their playstyles). I am just looking ahead at Snezhnaya already.

To be honest, 3.8 was more enjoyable to watch, I felt 4.8 was not anyth9ng special, expect for...... Also, what's with Hoyo and the .8 Summer Updates? It's been like this so far: 2.8: Kazuha and the girls 3.8 Kayea and the girls 4.8 Wanderer and the girls Edit: Wriothesley is the only 5-star Fontaine character to never appear in a special program, Fontaine probably have the most 5 star characters released during a Nation's lifespam updates being part of that Nation itself. Also, wierd how we only received a single hangout event, during Sumeru's we got 4, there were even a lack of events after 4.4, especially big ones, seems the devs are more focused on other stuff at the moments. One last thing, Navia is just EVERYWHERE! She even appeared in most of the Fontaine characters stories.

yeah yeah Arlan on Star rail But have you stopped to notice that Genshin has Kaeya, Xinyan, Candace, Cyno, Dehya, Sethos as tan/dark skin characters? Meanwhile Honkai Impact only has the girl with short white hair with the iron gauntlets that March replaced in the Star Rail alpha (that girl was supposed to be in March's place then, - one dark skin character in Star Rail) Genshin is Mihoyo's game with the most dark skin characters and you are forgetting that Iasan will still appear in Natlan and she is just one of the normally 16 characters that are released in a region

Because HSR story is very inconsistent to whoever pays attention to details. Dialogue writing is whack, characters lack actual depth. Genshin does temp events to not overload the memory, Honkai treats these filler event stories as continuation of main story. If Argenti left to fight swarn in Genshin then it would be a whole new discussion and theorization, you would get hints of what's going on in Belabog, with JingLiu and actual filling in the gaps if it were Genshin. But Honkai just puts it there and leaves it. Initial patches in Genshin are about current story, later patches for char interaction and Tevyat history. For a lore enthusiast opening Genshin stimulates my brain into wondering about Tevyat's history. For HSR, I open put it on auto collect my dailies and leave. They don't leave anything for your imagination and if you try to focus on their actual story, the plot holes and inconsistencies are too much to handle
