All the mondstadt characters besides Mona, Kaeya and Albedo are technically German. Mona is from Fontaine I believe so she would technically be French and Kaeya and Albedo are from Khanriea(please tell me if I spelt that wrong) so they would technically be some Scandinavian country. As for Childe he is from Snezhnaya so he is Russian and Sara would be Japanese.

I don't think all Mondstadt characters are German. Venti has a Latin name and is based on Greek Mythology, Boreas' name is also from Greek Mythology, Rostam's name is from Persian Mythology and his lore also matches up with the Rostam from Persian Mythology, Razor is most likely inspired by the story of the founder of Rome, etc., The only Mondstadt character I'm sure is meant to be German is Signora because of her last name

@@whatever5401 each reagion on the game is based on a real life country. Sumeru/India, Inazuma/Japan, Liyue/China and Mondstad/Germany. But there are some other inspirations, like names for example, that doesn't match the region/country. I don't know about other subregions (Chasm, Enkanomya, Dragonspine) nor am I 100% about the desert, but it seems to be heavily based on south asia and north africa (Egypt more specifically)

For me made Ajax Greek is one of the rare good idea of this list, the names of the Harbingers are based on the comedia dell'arte which is Italian, Shneznaya is based on russia and Ajax is a Greek name, this 7th region will be like Mondstadt, a european hell And we talk about Jean and Razor french? because in my beautiful country (haha) Jean is only a male name, and u will don't catch often someone saying: "Je vais aller m'acheter quelques RAZOR pour ma barbe " and Fischl french... ARRRRRRRRRG, not enough german voicelines i think XD

I believe that the world is going to be split up by. Monstadt- Central European, Liyue- China, Inazuma- Japan and south east Asia, (Ice)- Former USSR, (Water)- Western Europe and English america, (fire)- Latin America, (plants) South Asia and the Middle East. This would explain why Monstadt is so weak and small. Oh, and Africa wouldn’t fit in to any of them

Monsdast is a city inspired by Germany, Liyue by China and Inazuma by Japan so I think all the characters of Inazuma are Japanese all those of Liyue Chinese and all those of Monsdast German or European.

Im pretty sure this list is mostly going off their names. Jean is a French name and Barbara is a name of Greek origin, they’re supposedly different nationalities while being siblings. You notice that a lot of the Mondstadt characters are Greek because of their names. It really confirmed my suspicions seeing Kujou Sara as Hebrew. Hebrew is not even a nationality, it’s a language. Sara is also most definitely Japanese since she’s born in Inazuma. This person most probably just searched up their name origins.

Liyue characters = Chinese Mondstadt characters = German Inazuma characters = Japanese Thoma = French or German, although his name would have to be spelled "Thomas" Mona = French? (used to work in a newspaper agency in Fontaine) / German? (moves in Mondstadt in a Quest, so not from Mondstadt, the City of M. at least) Childe = Russian Albedo, Kaeya, Dainsleif = Norsemen (Khaenri'ah)

The each nation in Genshin is mainly based on one country each. So for Monstadt, it's Germany and probably other Western European countries as well but it is mainly Germany because Fontaine is based on France which is literally next to Germany so I doubt ther will Greeks and other European characters in Monstadt. Liyue is mainly based on China. You can see some characters with Korean names but the culture and story are very much Chinese. Inazuma is definately Japanese. Sumeru from what I know is based on South Asia and Middle East. Natland is most likely America as the character designs looks like traditional Native American attire.
