youre the mom ive always wished i had. my mom always yelled at me, downplayed how i felt/ignored obvious mental illness signs, and always got irrationally angry at the slightest thing i did so to hear someone whispering “im going to take care of you” while they just play with my hair is the most comforting thing. its just something that ive always needed but never got.

this is exactly why I listened to Maria. I found her a few years ago, and I began crying because no one had ever talk to me so gently before. It’s helped heal from a lot of abuse and trust issues, especially when letting someone touch my face.

I hope you can somewhat recover from that emotional abuse by learning how to love and cherish yourself 🙏 therapy would help you greatly on that journey! I had a very similar childhood and only learned as adult that how my mother treated me was abuse. It is not your fault and you are right and perfect just the way you are 💜 every baby and child deserves the best care, love and protection from their parents just because they exist 💜 good luck on healing your heart! I highly recommend the videos from lisa a. Romano for educating yourself on childhood abuse. Sending you love and light!

Hi Maria. I discovered you a few months ago and you’ve really been a light in the darkness for me. Been struggling a lot lately with depression and a spike in PTSD symptoms from a combination of moving to another state, quarantine, and stuff happening in our country. My dad was murdered when I was 17 and all this takes me back to very dark times. I feel so alone a lot of the time in a cruel world that just doesn’t understand. Ahhhhhh, this calms me down. Just put my 15 months old daughter to bed, she struggles to fall asleep lately. My neighbours making noise in the evening and acting like a*holes 😪 In October she's getting a little sister so I'm 25 weeks now. I feel stressed about the babies' health and watching asmr videos before going to bed really helps me put my mind off. Thank you ❤

Thank you once again! I know you probably won't see this, it would be absolutely AMAZING if you could make a yoga nidra guided meditation, either on its own or as part of another video. It's basically a 10 minute sequence of slowly guiding the listener through a full body relaxation series.

There is a great yoga nidra meditation on the channel Pura Rasa. She has a really relaxing voice and quite a decent selection of guided meditations. I know it's not Maria, but I still find her work very relaxing. Hope that helps xx

Many ASMR-Ists are overly sexual in tone and mannerisms for me. It's pretty off putting as a lady hearing other ladies be all coy and flirty sounding while I'm trying to relax. I love Maria because she is friendly and neutral. She doesn't sound like you're trying to fall asleep to a phone sex line lol.

angelofclover171 that’s my exact problem with men asmrists. I feel like im good with just Emma and Maria (and the occasional GoodnightMoon) as far as women go. But most men seem like they’re trying to be sexy while they do it? And it’s so off putting to me, like it does the exact opposite of relaxing and calming me.
