Got to be honest...I hate EBI overtime rules. People just game to stall now until overtime and it just turns into a quickest escape competition instead a Sub only submission contest.
@timothycarey38839 ай бұрын
It still produces more subs than any other rule set. In ibjjf everyone stalls on the feet and tries to score 2 takedown points, so it just turns into a sloppy highschool wrestling match.

Just let people roll till they submit. Thats the ultimate ruleset when not caring about viewers and audience.
@timothycarey38839 ай бұрын
@@andersnilssondvm ideal yes , not realistic when you have to rent a venue to do it. Izac michelle and kyle chambers had a 2 hour match recently.

@@andersnilssondvmevery rule set will have its downsides. In a no time limit sub only, you end up with a cardio contest just as much as ebi ends up as an overtime competition

@@DJBiermannit has been proven over the past 20 years that short overtimes just lead to another and another and then a bogus call from a ref decides the outcome and everyone bitches and argues about who won. If neither guy can score points or sub in regulation ebi ot showcases another major part of grappling who has better finishing, control, escaping skills and gives a clear cut winner with no chance of a biased or blown ref call.
@DJBiermann9 ай бұрын
@@timothycarey3883 Again..., ADCC utilizes single and double overtimes for matches, and their rule set has made for the most exciting sub grappling matches of that same 20 years. And why not institute sudden death/golden score? That would push the pace of the OTs and avoid stalling without having to watch a guy finish a locked in submission that he didn't earn or celebrate b/c he was able to escape in 59 seconds instead of a minute 🤦♂
@timothycarey38839 ай бұрын
@@DJBiermann adcc is great, but it creates boring matches as well, guys stall until points start then stall for overtime. Issac michele and vagner is a good example it was double leg turtle standup repeat, turned into a 30 minute sloppy wrestling match. Sub only is the best format but not sutible for tournaments but better for superfights. What ever the ruleset ends up being the boring fighters who want a w over all else will play the rules in the safest most boring way possible.
