I used to work with this black guy here in Philly. He always talked about his Pits & Bitches. I thought he was just bragging untill he showed me a check for $85,000 for 1 dog He kept 22 bitches in single wire pens in the basement, and had a swimming pool on the 3rd floor, so he could use a fire hose to wash all the shit down an open sewer in the floor. Each bitch had 6 to 10 puppies that he would either drown, or dump at a bus stop if they didn't measure up. He used to laugh and say there's a lot of stupid people who take dogs, just because they're free. 3 bad litters, and he would throw her out on the streets. I call the police 12 times, and they had to wait to hear from the SPCA, who wouldn't do anything because he donated dog food to them. He had 90 dogs in a West Philly row home, with no heat. But I'm not allowed to call him the N word, because it's undignified.

My pocket pit ran away from her home and her back sounds like Stella's. My vet says it's because her previous owner debarked her.

Thank you for rescuing her. I hope Stella has many wonderful years with her forever family. It's so sad that many families who buy dogs from a breeder do not realize the animals that get dumped after their perceived usefulness is gone.

Yes. Many families realize they can’t (or don want to) handle an adolescent pittie. Same goes for Malinois or GSP’s - except they’re much more expensive than pitties, so fewer people buy them. If people stopped buying pitties from backyard breeders who don’t care about temperament /health, then we would see fewer dumped pitties everywhere.

You know what they teach us the most? No matter how hard life is, never give up. They do not dwell in the past. They overcome their nightmare of a life they used to have and just let it go to achieve the happiness they deserve. They live in the moment. Enjoy what you are doing now. Have some fun. Don't worry or stress about tomorrow. They love you unconditionally. They don't care care about the color of your skin, if you're gay or straight. They love you for you. So many people say animals don't have feelings, but they are wrong, animals have feelings. They will love you and be your best friend til the day they die. They make us laugh. You are never alone, you have a best friend. Animals are the best and people that neglect and dump them like this poor baby, should be found and prosecuted, never to own another animal.

wow, Stella got really lucky, a great dog mom, a brother to learn from, lots of open space to run. I suspect as she matures her anxiety will dissipate, it sometimes takes an animal a long time to really feel secure/safe particularly with her background.

Lucky you and her. Usually people think only the dogs or cats being rescues are lucky but the truth is the rescuers are equally lucky. You get to share your wonderful life with her ❤❤❤

I Googled Shelters Georgia and got over 50. (that is cats and dogs) Why do they have to send them to us? That travel money could be spent on vets. So glad you are so happy with her.

I really loved how that beautiful soul Stella came into Kristas through a dream. It's beyond sickening that there are soulless mutant things out there using beautiful souls like Stella and then abandoning them but I know a lot about karma and when it comes to theirs it will really hurt. But it is so wonderful that Krista got Stella and that her other dog Apollo helped so much too and that Krista wrote a book about Stella.

Wonder if you could get a mix breed? We had a pup that was Lab/ pit she looked more Lab than anything but sometimes you'd see that pit look in her. Not a mean bone in her body,was a true sweetheart. Sorry I rambled on lol. Hopefully officials up there will be cool about it if you do decide,good luck!

A@@suemccann2010thats a shame pittiez are banned and its because of stories of them attacking which is relatively few if one looks at the numbers. They used to be called nanny dogs brcause they're so good witj kids. My tein grandsons learned to stanx and ealk using Hsrley their pittie. She gad little fingers in her ears eyes and if she had enough she just walked away bit never a bit of agression. Er had a huge black pittie Coal as to who was the caretaker and nurae to rhe others. It used to be that when they were taken to a shelter it was automatic euthanaisia but fortunately that was changed. I hope at some point it changes for Ontario. 😀🙏☮️💖

My three senior babies died in Sept.afterwards, I had a dream where my three babies were in my house along with a 4th dog w specific coloring and a long tail. Most yorkies have bobbed tails.. I too found a dog in rescue that looked like the new baby in my dream. She is my love and she is helping me heal from the loss of my senior babies

Stella is going to get better and better as tje years go on... shes adorable and may have been kept with a sibling or aomething for breeding so her shock to being apart from them is even more traumatic jence the screaming... also she was screaming bcos she knew instinctively ahe was being abandoned. These dogs are EXCEPTIONALLY LOVING AND INTELLIGENT. Like a little girl in a fur body. ❤
