I can’t believe any shelter would consider putting down such a healthy beautiful dog. It shows what a terrible world we live in. So glad you rescued him from his fate. He is a fantastic dog.

Kill/City Shelters have to make room for incoming dogs. They only have limited space and work more towards getting dogs off the streets instead of finding them homes. They are typically government funded and have these rules imposed on them by their city. A 501c rescue typically relies on donations and volunteers for support which is why they typically have more individual focus for each dog instead of the city itself. It’s awfully sad but you can’t blame the shelters.. you should blame the people letting their dogs breed, sell off the puppies and forget about them. Shelters would only have strays coming in if breeders took their dogs back when the buyers give the dog up. I have 1 dog from a breeder and if for any reason I can’t / don’t want to take care of the dog anymore my breeder will take my dog back and either keep him or find him a new home with a suitable, approved family. Even if he’s 10 years old. That’s how it should be for every pet breeder imo.

@@CinnBreed I do blame the dog breeders and the horrendous people who buy a dog and then let there dog down. There needs to be more government control on sellers and every aspect of dog breeding. I don’t disagree with you. However, even though funds are low, and support in minimal, I cannot agree with a situation where such a beautiful animal could be destroyed. Let hope in the future shelters get more funding from government.

I will never understand how anyone could surrender a dog that they have had just because they don't want the dog anymore.. It breaks my heart. My wife and i have always said that we would sleep in our car if it came down to keeping our furbabies.

They never wanted them in the first place... some people have them as props or toys when they're young. I say: Don't try to understand, those people don't deserve understanding. As far as pitbulls is concern, I know a few in my neighborhood (I'm from Argentina), and you could either walk them or take them arround in a baby stroller, is the same for them lol. Back in 2015 adopted German shepherd/Border Collie mix, (she was lost, walking past my house one nigth, no collar, no tag...she changed my life, she's my baby since then. Her name is "Vida" (It's a Spanish word that means "Life") I only wish I had a large space (yard) to have more dogs.

Max erinnert mich sehr an Percy the Pitty.

@@elliesadventures8062 That is not an excuse! Instead governments should put bans on people! The 🤮 ones who arent sane, and make them go through some psychological test before owning an animal at all. Invent animal protective services and make them visit animals in their homes or at least keep track of their wellbeing. Raise the prison sentence for mistreating or hurting an animal.preferably to a death sentence. Stop backyard breeders and throw them in the dumpster. Make sure someone has the funds already if they want to buy a dog or a cat or another innocent animal! They are equally innocent as children. And you wouldnt place a child with a pedophile. So shelters wouldnt be overcrowded. I for one would be glad to pay tax for this instead of imaginary climate crisis projects or delusional billion dollar programs for people who refuse to work. Also wall street alone makes so much money they could just be forced to donate 2% of their capital and fund either the protective services for animals or build the shelters more room! But they dont, greedy eager evil 👿. You imagine that this awfulness and evilness exist in this world and then think again about overcrowded shelters! Makes me sick

My soul dog was a red nose pitt, she was the most loyal and loving dog. Back in the early 2000's people were way more ignorant of how wonderful they are. Parents wouldn't let their children play at my house with my boys due to what breed she was. I actually had child protection services called on me twice by neighbors saying I was keeping a viscous killer in the house with small children. The only way that my dog was gonna kill anyone was with love and kisses.

People are fkening stupid! Here is how the cycle of poor animals being left behind or abandoned starts. You have a person or family who sees cute little puppy. They then buy or adopt the puppy because the dog is way too cute and adorable to be left alone. So they get the dog and keeps the dog like it's a teddy bear. They fail to realize that the baby dog will grow up and will require tons of attention, food, resources, medical care, and housing. The puppy finally grows up to teen or adult years. They get tired of the dog because they only liked it when it was small and easier to handle. They then leave the dog or give it away. Then the dog is homeless and goes into a shelter no matter if it's No-Kill or not. After a while they get tired of being alone with no pet so they buy or adopt a new puppy. Cycle starts all over again.

I'm in love!!! He's such a cutie and now has the PERfECT family! He reminds me of a rescue I had who was a pitbull. He was scary looking but so, so kind. He was protective but wasn't aggressive, just ready around some people. He always stood between me and anyone we didn't know. My sister had found a stray pitbull and she loved people. Not a mean bone in her body but protective, as well. We miss them. They taught us that this breed was loving and wanted to be loved.

I'm so happy that y'all found each other. It's really sad and wrong of the stigma on pitties. I adopted my first pittie about 8 years ago. I do not regret it a bit. He is the most affectionate dog that I have ever had.

This 'stigma' is very much earned by this utterly savage breed. According to Canine Journal, of the 433 Americans killed by dogs in between 2005 and 2017, a staggering 284 of those deaths were caused by pit bulls. 65% of all Dog attack deaths are caused by Pit Bulls. It is not the Dogs' fault they are this way, but the fact remains that they should be banned and sterilised out of existence.
@conor3361
@conor3361 2 жыл бұрын
@@karthimaranman5433 no they are aggressive becuase they were selectively bred to fight, which ingrained in them a fighting instinct. The same way that Border Collies can herd and Golden Retrievers can find and retrieve better than any other dog, pit bull's core personality trait is savage agression. And besides, what are you even trying to say? That those 265 people brought their deaths on themselves becuase they mistreated the dog? We have all heard of the many stories of pit bulls turning on their loving owners and children in the house, so don't blame the innocent victims that died horrible deaths due to our society tolerating this savage predator. And take your blinkers off just because you find them cute.
@conor3361
@conor3361 2 жыл бұрын
@@karthimaranman5433 your anecdotes means nothing in the face of the countless data we have on pitbull attacks. And dogs are still animals and predators. Even my pug goes into predator mode when he sees a squirrel. Every animal on this planet has biological instincts ingrained through generations of breeding, to deny that is to deny evolution and basic biology. There are many dogs that could do as much damage as pit bulls such as German Shepherds, but they don't because they do not have the same core instincts. If you really think that there is not something wrong with the fact that one breed accounts for 65% of dog attack deaths, then I don't know what else to say.

You would think that with the description that he had the people at the shelter would have tried to help him. If his paperwork said that he's a family dog good with children and other dogs then why put him down just because he's a pitbull. I think that's so sad and something needs to change about that. Everyone acts like just because they are pitbulls that means they are aggressive no matter what. And that's simply not true it's not the breed of the dog it's how they are trained and treated. Thank you for being awesome and giving him a good loving forever home Peace and love to you and your family 💜❤💜❤💜❤

I'm so done with this pitbull / bully breeds/mixes "has to be euthanize" thing. I'm also done with labeling dogs and cats "aggressive" or "dangerous" when their behavior was assessed in a scary / unnatural environment like a shelter, or assessed by people who do not have proper knowledge about behavior in dogs and cats. Thousands of pets die because of that. This boy was so lucky to find an adopter, I wish him and his family all the best.

You might be done with it, but the thousands maimed and killed are still going to happen yearly. Pitbulls are the number one cause of death and injury by dogs.
@mintcrisp94
@mintcrisp94 2 жыл бұрын
@@jonnycatland1987 You know, it's interesting you should say that. I was just looking at the FBI statistics for violent crimes, and a certain race seems to be causing a lot of the yearly deaths. Similar to your answer to Pitbulls, maybe we should apply that to humans too and start euthanizing certain races. After all, on paper we'd be cutting the crime rate in half! I guess we COULD look into environmental factors too, like upbringing traditionally being by unequipped guardians who weren't prepared to deal with the challenges associated with the responsibility of raising them, leading them to effectively have no idea how to behave. But that would take a lot of effort and mean having to accept that the answer is likely to address the actual root cause of these issues rather than a simple "We'll just kill'em!" attitude.
