Learn how to sign up for Geocaching, navigate the Geocaching app, and find caches. Joan and Sienna from the Charactor Club will take you Geocaching and show you the basics along the way so that you can go Geocaching today!!
Geocaching is like a free scavenger hunt in your neighborhood. For years people have been hiding "caches" all over. All you need to start is the free app. It is a lot of fun and a great way to get your family outdoors. People like us that like puzzles, adventures, and the outdoors will be hooked quick. Happy hunting!

I first heard about this is school in 2003 but there was no app and it was more rare. I'm glad to see it's still going. I've never done it before but I think I'm going to start now! If they'd had the app before maybe I could have started a long time ago. 😞 also this is a cute video! You and your daughter and the music, just so dang adorable.

I heard about it around the same time and never done it but was hiking on a game trail behind my house yesterday and there was a tube on a tree and thats all it took for me to be interested last written log was 2017.

The first time I ever came across a "geocache" im assuming anyway, was with my friend in 2005 when we were 8 riding our bicycles through town. We didn't know what we found, but thought to open it. We found $50 inside and some jewlery with a note saying "from Boone" We took it to the nearest jewelers to pawn it off. Got an additional 40 dollars for it! To us we thought we hit the jackpot and were being stalked by bad guys.

I set up 3 and right away someone helped me out by adding camo. Also ive had a new log added for me as well. A great community

Thanks for the video - lots of good information - looks like fun! I'm going to start doing this with my granddaughters! So much better for kids to be outside doing stuff like this than sitting in front of a TV all day!

Video is great, just watched it after we tried geocaching. We didn’t know what we were doing. Glad this video showed me that it’s not worth doing. We thought there would be little prizes 😂

I really like the part at the end on how to use the Search map and create lists that sync with your smartphone. I hadn't thought about doing it that way but it's a great idea!

You must be using the upgraded version, as it is nothing like the free version. There's no navigation, no hints and very little anything else, just two dots.

You cannot do most of the things you showed (in profile, etc), without the membership. Aka. Paying. Also, first geocaching yesterday in Dade City, FL with hubby, 35 year old so and 7 year old grandson. They showed us how to set up the app and start finding!

I am starting this with my 3 yr old. I notice the app compass takes me within 20 ft of location. Do you have a video or instructions how to use external compass for coordinates?

Very cool, you will enjoy it. The app gets you to the vicinity of the cache....for us the fun is trying to find it once we are in the basic area of it.

Most people carry “TOTTS” which are tool of the trades. Things like flashlight, magnets, tweezers, pen, little toys/prizes you can leave behind. You can go on the website and they give you an idea of what to include in your own little kid

You can take something if you leave something. Normally I carry a little bag that has pins/stickers/foreign coins. There’s trackbales/bugswhich “travel” from cache to cache too
