Truely a hauntingly beautiful cover...I am in awe of how talented Geoff is. This cover has brought me to tears so many times. it hits so hard. Geoff brings such depth, sadness and a sort of resignation to this song.

Geoff gives a totally different mood spin to this song... It's now a somber and sad song, telling a different story than the original. The heavy sensuality charge that was in the original gave place to the sadness of someone who knows he's doing something he shouldn't, yet is incapable of resisting his desire, or his lust if you prefer. I loved Chris Isaak version... But I was young. Now that I'm almost 70, this version fits me so much better. 🙂 Even in hindsight, this has been a lesson that I had to learn the hard way. And if I had to sing it nowadays, I would sing it more or less the same way, or at least I'd try to give it the same kind of mood and tell the same kind of story. 🙂 Of course, each one of us has different perceptions, and each one will take this song in a different way, and that's fine. 🙂 See you next time!

By the way.... Voiceplay released their new video on the 16th..... "Sleeping In The Cold Below" from the Warframe video game. It is a fantastic Space Shanty.

This is a you thing… I mean, if you like the higher voices, then you have the original to listen to. The deep bass voice was perfect, and I don’t think that I will ever listen to another version of this song again.😂 This is Geoff’s song now. Not everything is for everybody 🤷🏻‍♀️

Geoff and Voiceplay do not copy and paste their videos. If they can't do something different with a song they won't do it. His low voice gives a whole different meaning and feel to the song. I personally don't care for Chris Isaak's version. But everyone has their own options, likes and dislikes. No judgement here.

I completely respect your opinions on this. Personally I have no ties to the original, so I fell in love with the sound he created and I especially LOVE that lion's purr at the start. It didn't have the feel you were subconsciously looking for, and that's perfectly alright. I'm glad you gave it a listen, and look forward to seeing more of your Geoff/VP reactions!

Your opinion - it can't be wrong (or right), it's just yours. For me, I've heard the original, but I didn't have any particular connection to it, so this was a completely new take on the song, and one that I now DO have a connection to. So, to each their own.

Of course low voice fit in this song ! You need to open your mind Because you don t like something different but geoff and voiceplay always do something different OPEN YOUR MIND

My mind is quite open. I love Geoff. I love Voiceplay. I just didn't like the low pitch for this particular song. It's not insulting. It just means I wasn't a fan of this particular song. And that's ok.

Creo que el titulo es bass singer version!... Si quieres en un rango alto sigue escuchando a Cris Isaac... Geoff lo canta en un rango de voz diferente porque también transmite diferente sentimiento... Lo mismo que Diana Ankudinova... No por ser diferente sea necesariamente malo... Son preferencias.... 👏🏻

I mean no disrespect, but it seems you don't understand either Geoff Castello or Voiceplay. It's not my place to be his spokesperson, but I do listen to his interviews. if you want to hear what you've always heard, listen to that. You were specific in your comments during the song , you objected to him differing from what Chris Isak did....... the thing is, he's openly discussed the fact that he'll never give you that, because, what's the point? That version is out there, why would he repeat it? What he offers is what HASN'T been done and he believes is valid. Argue with that, but not with the fact that he didn't give you high when you expected high.

I understand them both quite well. I'm a big fan of both. I said it in the video if you watched it. All I said was personally the song didn't feel right going so low. Just because I have an opinion doesn't mean I don't understand. We just disagree. And that's ok.

What I hear are "gridlocked expectations" 😉. I mean, you expected the song/cover to be in the way you wanted it to be. And it wasn't. You haven't been ready or open minded for a different version, a completely other approach and vibe. You just waited for the moment, when you (nearly) got what you expected. - No offense, of course! Just the impression I had, when seeing your reaction.

Very open minded. I just didn't like it. I don't feel this song should be sung so deeply. Again...I love Geoff...I just don't feel this particular song should be sung in that octave. No offense to him or anyone else. Just not my cup of tea. And that's ok.
