Geoff has helped loads of people without knowing. I bought the Fear book in 1996 and it also accidentally gave me confidence to ask out a girl who I liked in Blockbusters video store, after many days of renting out Chines kung fu movies, lol. Helped with muay thai and getting over the fear of hitting and being hit stage, and I bought the updated books for my two nephews for Christmas 2020.

It's now very clear, and beautiful, that Geoff has moved on on from the brutality of his past. And though he still can offer guidance on self-protection - I wish more interviewers would ask about his spiritual journey and writing works - and this is just as exciting. 😊

I followed geoff since the early 90s, everything he says is spot on regarding physical self defense but the metaphysical stuff is just his opinion and using unsubstantiated sources like religion, spirituality,its actually the opposite of what he always taught which is evidence based.

I think it's his Aikido training that has lead him to think the way he does now, what with that pedophile instructor having the most influence on his mind.

how do you defend Geoff if your fence arm is not straight , through disability , your strike arm is fine , but your fence arm allows them closer
@nickashton3049
@nickashton3049 3 жыл бұрын
Difficult to say without seeing how disabled your arm is, the fence is not necessarily employed with dead straight arms. You can find a lot of Geoff's books (that'll hopefully answer your questions) on pdfdrive.com for free. Also checkout on KZfaq:- "Philip Bayer Wing Chun" to see that it's possible to be world class with a disability.

Thompson's mentor john anderson advocates an invisible fence. No arms up, so as not to provoke. Still need to line up attacker and mentally decide when to hit them. Google awesome anderson seminar. Hear it from the horses mouth

why judo over wrestling?
@iFlowWithTheGo
@iFlowWithTheGo Жыл бұрын
Probably because in a street type of situation people wear clothing, jackets, coats and things to grab. Like Geoff says Judokas have strong stand-up game as well as how it ends up on the ground which usually favours the Judoka. Wrestling ofcourse is something else that should be learned.
