Denmark and Norway love each other. Very alike. All of Scandinavia including Finland, Iceland, Faroe Islands and Greenland we have a great friendship. Sweden a little trouble though 😁

Guys...... Norway is a very loooong country 😊 so it's not cold all the time. In the winter it can be really cold in one part of the country, and very mild in another part. In my city it's not very cold in the winter, and we get very little snow. Last winter we had next to no snow..... we hardly had snow at all.... I live in the South. In the summer it's nice and warm, for the most part.... 😊

We have a saying in Norway. "There is no such thing as bad weather. Just bad clothes.." It rimes in Norwegian. 😉 Er ikke noe som heter dårlig vær, bare dårlig klær. We just put on more clothes and go out. Rain or snow.

We don't necessarily enjoy it....but it is what it is. The place in Norway where I live we can go from +40 C in the summer to -40C in the winter. But we have to go outside anyways, you just dress for the conditions. :)

Fun fact: in the Norwegian dub of _Frozen,_ the trolls speak Nynorsk, while everyone else speaks Bokmål. I guess Nynorsk is sort of the rural/country dialect, similar to the Southern/Appalachian accent in American English.

The relationship between the Scandinavian countries are much more complex than this video says. In the north of Norway, Sweden and Finland are countries you know, while in the south Denmark is close enough by boat or train. If you really get into the history then you will see why Denmark and Norway often feel like closer buddies than Sweden and Denmark. It is probably meaningful to historiaclly view Sweden and Denmark as the two oldest "brothers" that are most competitive towards each other, while norway as the youngest brother just watch them from the sideline. If you go into ancient history with Vikings and stuff, then the picture is a bit different. Norway had a "golden age" at the late part of the viking age with the largest territorial extent, but later it has been Sweden and Denmark that have tried to act like empires in their own respective areas, and even tried to chip away at each other. Norway could not keep up after the viking age, and was part of Denmark for 400 years. When we finally managed to start wiggle our way out of this, because of Napolen, we wiggled for about 100 years to become independent. Sweden made this possible by holding a loose grip on Norway after Denmark had to hand us over to them. By this time the populations of the Scandinavian countries have become quite integrated, and the higher classes were often mixed in culture and language. The emigration to USA happened mostly because of poverty and starvation. In USA norwegians could get free land, taken from the natives of course. What makes Norway attractive today is very good economic management, extensive welfare state, massive democratic participation rate and endless nature attractions, etc. But for Denmark and Sweden Norways economy have probably been most important in the later decades, with a lot of immigration for work from both Sweden and Denmark in periods. But they usually go back home when the crisis is over. Norwegians are not really that much more outdoors people than most other countries. Maybe a little, but not that much. It was the Swedish Alfred Nobel who actually gave Norway the role as international peace negotiator nation. All Nobel prizes, except one are given out by Sweden, while little innocent Norway were more suitable to give out the peace prize. We had after all gained our independence by peaceful means ourselves. Some way to go concidering our history of vikings. Today norwegian officials enjoy a high level of trust traveling around the world trying to negotiate peace. Not often successful, but helpful in making communication happen. None of this is directly connected to the peace prize, but the prize gave the norwegian state a special status. The government have no influence on the Nobel peace prize comittee, but we use the reputation for what we can on the international stage as a nation for world peace.

The oil thing about Denmark giving away territory that happened to be full of oil is mostly a myth. The real reason is the UN international agreement on where and how maritime boundaries are set that actually gave Norway that territory.

I'm Norwegian, and we don't want to be a part of EU. We like / love the Scandinavian roots, and we are more than enough satisfied with the current friendship with Sweden, Denmark, Island and Finland. We don't need Europe. TBH, the rest of Europe is fucked.
