People need to maximise the genetic potential they already possess. The majority of their problems are self inflicted from their lifestyles. How are you going to genetically reverse or prevent the effects of 30 plus years of smoking, drinking, poor diet and sloth? I'm 70 and , by not doing those things, am healthier than almost all of my 50 and 60 year old patients.

I just finished reading Woolly (Ben Mezrich) and I see this interview?!?! That’s awesome!!! The book is about Dr. Church’s work in reviving Woolly Mammoths. Really really good book. It got me very excited for the wild breakthroughs in Genetics I’ll see in my lifetime.

Dr would it ever be possible to get Dr Michael Levin in the pod? It's not a reach to say he may be the most interesting person you can interview.

Adding to the genome would work. All mammals have around 25K genes. Humans are only able to be much more evolved by capturing a microbiome to do the basic work ...and allow for advanced genes to code the uniquely human. This is likely a downside. I see the microbiome as the source for aging related decline. Mechnikoff predicted aging as caused by "rogue bacteria." My work shows a relationship along the lines of internal parasitism caused aging. Explosive growth of rogue bacteria could certainly eat up all available amino acids. In this case even prefect RNA cannot code protein/hormones/peptides without having all necessary amino acids. We'll see how my pending patents advance. The USPTO doesn't seem to like granting patents in this area. I know! I've been submitting them since 2012...🙃

Endlessly fascinating! Meditation can be another source of creativity or walking or showering! Is there a concern that directed evolution will eventually reduce biological diversity and we won’t know the long term consequences for a while?

A disease is a legal title that grants treatment to licensed medical practitioners, since disease is only an academic invention and most illnesses are related to nutritional deficiency and environmental toxicity, what will this do to prevent gene expression?

Is this a theoretical talk or about concepts that relate to what a person can apply themselves right now to improve their life?
@FoundMyFitness
@FoundMyFitness Жыл бұрын
This talk will not tell you how to diet. However, I'd stop short of calling it theoretical, because the entire video is oriented around describing the technological leaps that have happened in a few short years (actual milestones) and, only after establishing that point, tries to impress upon the listener what that might mean in the very near future.

Dr. Ronda you need to have a podcast studio with good furniture to keep people watching and interested . This black background is so uncomfortable to set through…. The podcast is not breaking through because of these simple things. Thank you again for all the hard work you are wonderful 🌺

This is not gonna end well. Humans are too smart for their own good. Just bc we CAN do it doesn’t mean we SHOULD. Not fully understanding pleitropy- how a single gene controls multiple functions- should be enough to approach this with extreme caution.

Dr Church's definition of comparing chemistry to the chemistry of biology misses a key point which I find is a shortcut which is flawed. Quantum physics and the unified fields which store and communicate memory are a key component of biology.
