To even go one step further, IF he were to try to use that in court it would be laughed out of court. No one is charging him for any of those crimes that he was impeached for AND TO TOP THAT, Georgia is a separate sovereign so he can be charged for the EXACT SAME CRIME as they charge federally. GOP Candidates should take tips from Jon Ossoff when Perdue refused to show up for the debate for the 2020 Georgia Senate race. Ossoff took humorous pot shots at the empty podium to prove just how cowardly and disinterested Perdue was at serving the people. There is alot that can be learned from that Georgia debate, in this situation.

Exactly. Also looking back at other first debates, for either party, front runners typically do not attend the first couple of debates. But mostly it's lawyers seem to have gotten him to zip it. Regardless of a plea deal, a RICO conviction is a mandatory 5 year minimum sentence in the State of Georgia. It’s not a probated sentence, so any plea agreement would include at least a 5 year prison stint. They are ALL screwed. Violating election laws in the United States writ large, is severely punished and thank goodness that in a nation that is deeply polarized, both sides can agree that the subversion of democracy can not be tolerated in any circumstance.
