Ok people hear me out so What happens if georges dreams are connected to his emotions so as he got more dreams he slowly started going insane because he can’t tell what’s really and what’s a dream so what happens if, George woke up and encountered Dream once Dream killed him that’s when his actual dream started and since he was so angry at Dream for killing him that in his dream he took all his anger out on the people he trust and cares about making him go insane and the reason in his dream he killed DreamXD was because he blames him for giving him theses dreams. Just my thoughts on it also the amount of times I said Dream in this comment XD

I'm not sure who notice this, but in technical POV it was a great transition between an SMP replica where he was destroying everything and the original SMP where he just woke up and the achievements are still there. Probably it's like on any MC server, where you can play on different worlds, and in this case, these worlds contain the different replicas of the Dream SMP.
