I think this is probably Georges best wartime song, quite moving in a way.

This is one of my favourite musical numbers from all the Formby films. Brilliantly directed, loads of great moments in it - and George's uke playing is just outstanding.

This song just shows how much more stronger and respected the police used to be, they used to be spoke to nicely, but nowadays, especially younger people, tend to not show respect but rather the opposite. I mean, the police force in the uk are on their heels, but nobody really takes into account what they do, I mean, while we run AWAY from danger, the police still run TOWARDS the daner and try to resolve it, putting their lives on the line. Its the same with firefighters and doctors/nurses.

The problem is, some less than respectable people became officers not to help, but to abuse the power that comes with being an officer. These corrupt officers make the rest look bad, especially since some departments do a bad job of weeding out the corrupt officers. It's not new, it's just becoming more visible. There needs to be a better way of weeding out people who join the police force for the wrong reasons, but that's hard to do considering people could easily just lie about why they want to be an officer.
