Yes to laying down a straight laced basis of a tune before you go crazy on the changes. You have all the choruses you can handle to blow but please present the tune the composer laid out. At any tempo, let me hear the song as it was written, then show me your creations over the framework of the song.

I met you in the 80's when my insane but cute girlfriend took a couple clarinet lessons with you and talked about Sandole. This concept really fits his ideas on playing sound against sound. It's why random triads and II V lines work on top of the standard harmony.....love this and your excellent playing/educating.

George, I notice when you play your throat puffs out like a frog. Is there any way to practice opening the throat, as my throat is not puffy at all. I am told opening the throat creates a better sound but no idea how this is done. Maybe you can do a video on that as I have never heard too many people address this but a lot of good saxophonists seem to do it. Envious
