Album: A Picture of Me (Without You)
Utgitt: 1972
Låtskrivere: George Richey / Norris D Wilson.
Labels: Epic
A Picture of Me (Without You) is an album by American country music singer George Jones. It was released in 1972 on the Epic Records label.
A Picture of Me (Without You)" is a country music song written by Norro Wilson and George Richey.According to Rich Kienzle's liner notes for the 1994 Sony retrospective The Essential George Jones: The Spirit of Country, the song was written specifically for Jones with co-writer Norro Wilson singing the song for George "imitating the Jones style to show how he wanted it sung. Even with the string arrangement, the country feel remained undiminished". The song is similar to an older Webb Pierce song called "That's Me Without You". It was originally recorded by George Jones, whose version peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1972. In his 1995 autobiography I Lived to Tell It All, Jones quoted lines from the song to describe his own sadness at the passing of his brother-in-law W.T. "Dub" Scroggins in 1993.

Lyrics: Imagine a world where no music was playing Then think of a church with nobody praying If you ever looked up at a sky with no blue Then you've seen a picture of me without you Have you walked in a garden where nothing was growing Or stood by a river where nothing was flowing If you've seen a red rose unkissed by the dew Then you've seen a picture of me without you Can you picture Heaven with no angels singing Or a quiet Sunday morning with no church bells ringing If you've watched as the heart of a child breaks in two Then you've seen a picture of me without you

I sure miss George, good thing his music will live on forever. When people talk about country music today, I tell them “that’s not country”. I grew up listening to Merle Haggard, George Jones, Marty Robbins, Conway Twitty, Lefty Frizzle. Alan Jackson and George Strait are the last of real country anymore, but their music will live on.

Listen to me about George Jones I was married 1973 divorce 1982. The worst years of my life is my first wife not knocking her but some of it was my claim to. But I will listen to George Jones 1973 when I first come out of the military. I think the first thing I reckon remember wasp white light. And the Window Up Above I wasn't even married yet you still make me cry. George Jones to me was one of the people I wished I could seem like I wished I had a talent but I don't think I could do the same thing he was doing not after not week after week month after month. So I've been driving a truck for 48 years still listening to my old George Jones other people used to say listing to who and the 70s. I still love George Jones I'm 67 and I know I'm long-winded but there you go this is someone old trucker still older and Merle and the rest of them so here we go we're out here.
