GENIUS. One of the greatest songs ever. They need to put it in the Smithsonian. It never left my playlist. A HUGE song in Detroit. They played it in nightclubs from 1983 to 1989. The only reason they stopped playing it because R&B changed to New Jack Swing

This is the song that blew a gasket in my car while doing 80 on I-95 on my way home to Long Island from Connecticut on a Friday night so I could get ready to go clubbing. The speakers were so high and I was enjoying the song so much, I could neither hear nor comprehend what was going on as the car slowed down to a stop even though my foot was pressing the accelerator IN THE FAST LANE. Had to be towed after 6pm and the garage was closing, so the mechanic couldn't look at the car, and it took me forever to get home.

This song was so ahead of its time that the first time I heard it in 1983 I disliked it. I couldn't feel it, let alone understand it!!! Now I can see what a masterpiece it is. Those who manage to grasp it will peek into how the mind of the drummer (or any musician for that matter) works: You vocalize what you hear in your mind and only then you write a song.

This is the song that on day 3 youre running out of gas but dont want to leave the dance floor so your entire crew starts the stroll then get in a rythmic groove consisting of of swaying forward and back bobbing the head eyes shut hoping its a remix extended cut. The energy starts coming back. Youre still in your trance but now anticipating the the ending of this praying the dj is loading yazoo situation. And your good to go another 15 hours.

If you know anything about German culture in the early 1980s, specifically the scene in West Berlin, this song fits in perfectly. Berlin was very avant-garde in the 1920s. And became avant-garde again a few decades after World War 2.

@@John_Weiss Not really But Iam pretty sure it did fit or represented the German culture at that time (: But what I was describing is how American culture took the song at first market it there own way for record sales and then finally later on truly embraced the song completely (: And gave it and the artist it's rifle due of proper respect and acknowledgement of the greatness of the song and the artist who they finally recognized was German and was a great artist with his great band (: More than Brilliantly Genius Artist and Band Pure GREATNESS at its very best period (:

@@AngelRDiaz-ie6ww Yes, I did and do agree with you on that. You ma recall the name Falco, who had 2 hits in the US around the same time. I'm sure you've heard of Kraftwerk. If you don't know her work, have a look at what Nina Hagen was doing at around that time. And then there's a song from Germany named, "Da Da Da," that came out around that time.
