I didn't know that Mr. Acker Bilk played with George Lewis. What a beautiful clip!! I am fan of both musicians.

Master and pupil playing together - beautiful! Acker must have been totally chuffed. I hear Lewis in the late 50s and it was superb.

Beautiful. Wish I could have shown this to my late father who was a huge George Lewis fan. Maybe he saw it in 1965...I'll never know!

What a joy to listen to, and watch, this. The look an Acker's face at 3 minutes when George Lewis plays one of his typical runs is just a delight as is Acker's reaction at the end. Yes, George Lewis was a master, but so of course was Acker Bilk. The rest of the band are also on top form, the string bass playing is just wonderful. Thank you so much for posting this piece of art.
