Lynch Mob have come full circle to the end of their ride with the release of the Babylon, their eighth and final album, released October 20, 2023 via Frontier Records.
The current line-up of the band, joining revered guitarist and band founder George Lynch, are Gabriel Colón [vocals], Jaron Gulino [bass], and Jimmy D'anda [drums].
George is known for his fiery guitar playing, which is evident on every one of Lynch Mob's albums regardless of who is in the band. Since its inception in 1989, George has brought amazing musicians along like Oni Logan, Mick Brown, Anthony Esposito, Marco Mendoza, Scot Coogan, Jeff Pilson, and Robert Mason to serve up some timeless classics, "River of Love," "She's Evil But She's Mine," "Wicked Sensation," "Jungle of Love," "Main Offender," and "Rain."
Keeping in the vein of their musical legacy, Babylon does not disappoint, as George's inventive and intricate guitar playing is all over this album. There is no shortage of unconventional scales, arpeggios, chiming harmonics, whammy bar dives, Wah Wah skills, and signature vibrato technique like on the Van Halen-esque "I'm Ready," "The Synner," with its slow, sleazy infectious groove, and "Erase" with its invention tone. Throughout, George delivers supreme guitar playing, proving he is still at the top of his game, full of rich techniques and tone.
Lynch Mob has also announced The Final Ride, a farewell tour celebrating the band's 35-year legacy. The tour is expected to kick off in January 2024 and conclude in March 2025 on the Monsters of Rock Cruise.

It is always a pleasure to interview George. In my interview with him, he shares the technical recording issues the band faced to complete the album, when and why he decided Babylon would be the band's last, how Lynch Mob was not designed to have a revolving door of players, find out who his and Mich Brown's first choice for a singer was for the band's first album, and how he would like to have former members of Lynch Mob join the band on stage for the Final Ride Tour. Check out the full interview, and please make sure to follow My Global Mind on Facebook and Twitter and subscribe to their KZfaq channel.

Great interview... a little different than all of the interviews I've been seeing. I haven't seen the latest version of Lynch Mob yet, but I did see Lynch w/XYZ & AON and I liked the banter between the guys. Seemed like the most fun I've seen Lynch having in the 8 or 9 times I've seen him! I do hope there's more Lynch Mob... or at least something else with Gabriel. He's surprisingly good, and a little different.

Great interview! Ive been a huge fan, as so many, of George since Breaking The Chains hit the streets. Met/ talked with him several times over the years. Always a humble, nice guy. Although, he does still owe me royalties for the skull knob idea for the Limited run LTD Mr Scary guitar..LOL.

lets see if I get royalties/credit for the idea of inviting former member to join band on stage. LOL

Great interview. I do think it's the right time and way to end Lynch Mob. Maybe it's just me, but I have always felt that The End Machine, specifically, is the new Lynch Mob, very close stylistically amongst all Georgie's projects, but maybe more focused, a bit more modern, and just one notch above the current Lynch Mob formation. One more reason to admire George's mindset, evolution as a player, and integrity.

27:35 George mentions Anthony when asked about reuniting with ex-Lynch Mob members. Anthony told me he asked to reunite the original band but was denied. The lineup is probably one of LM's very best anyway..

Dokken and L mob may have been more successful bands had they come up with more of their own riffs, songs, lyrics etc. instead of borrowing from other bands and then (as he said here) trying to disguise them. But, I guess they just weren't very artistic at creating something original and it was an easier way of trying to be rockstars. The bands that were more creative though are still doing huge live shows (arenas and stadiums) and still making a good living from their catalogs of great original music while the Dokken/L Mob guys are stuck playing clubs and bars. The lesson; Don't take shortcuts. Create something new and original. In other words, Be an artist.
