George Mason University today unveiled a completely redesigned logo as the capstone of its two-year-long, comprehensive rebrand. The new look, which will include a single logo for the university and its athletics program, asserts George Mason’s emerging identity as a national top 50 public university and Virginia’s top-ranked university for innovation and upward mobility, as well as the commonwealth’s largest and most diverse university.

a logo that lacks creativity, innovation, and distinction from all the other colleges. instead it became a logo that seems AI-generated with a generic/standard common 2-letter design (or in some schools 3 letters). perhaps could have added an U, which could helped slightly, but mostly not. definitely one of the most boring designs of all Virginia colleges.

I miss the quill as a reference to the founder, but the old typeface was corporate. I like how this new one feels collegiate but refined. Good job imo
