In my opinion, George Michael has been one of the most talented artists we've known in the past years. He's been able to master the word "artist" by writing, producing, singing, composing, and if I'm not mistaken, even playing some instruments on his albums. But not only that, he was able to adapt to other genres perfectly. Huge respect for George Michael.

I use this song to test sound systems. It's an arsehole of a song - Insidious base line that builds resonance and a tight, grippy top end that shows up poorly installed mids/bass - or rattles... As for the song itself? It's from the true gent of the music industry. Never got to see him in concert. Almost did - but he cancelled and a few years later - died. :(

For some reason this beauty tends to get overlooked in the George Michael pantheon of hits.... but it's an absolute beast! It's got jazz, hip hop scratching, soulful vocals, a KILLER BASSLINE!! deep lyrics, an infectious sample from Herbie Hancock and a sophisticated sexy black and white video. It's a million miles from Faith but that's why I love George, he can sing any genre convincingly, effortlessly.

What a great AIDS awareness song. His voice was just so angelic. His musical creativity was endless. There will never be another one like him. Listening to this with older ears compared to when I was younger and I appreciate this more given the context of the 80s for the hay community. As a man who has been cheated on by a girlfriend or two, it resonates also on a personal level. I did not expect this video for such a deep song (not that it's bad, just unexpected).

So shocked and saddened by the news. I will remember him not just for the music but for his kindness and generosity, because in 2008 he held a free concert for NHS nurses at Wembley stadium to show his gratitude to the care his dying mother received from NHS staff. I was lucky to go and see him live there for the first time with my Mum who is a nurse. It was such a great concert and his voice hadn't changed. I remember and thank him for his music and his generosity. RIP George Michael.

I mean the basics of it... 4 o'clock in the morning, you ain't home, can't help thinking that's strange. so I got the time wrong but google got me to this vid lol and I had no recollection of it being G michael but I remember it being a cool tune and it's just what I'm in the mood for. but hear this... the sound is distinctly bee gees. wind it back to the opening vocal and tell me there's no bee gees in there lol. I'm talking influence and sound not actual bee gees. perfect groove, perfect hooks... all been done before

This song inspired me to begin fighting back against anorexia nervosa, just before George died I would listen to it and those lyrics were me arguing with that demon illness that I had mistakenly thought of as my friend, I went on to accept help and continue to fight with anorexia,I always said it was like an abusive relationship. Progress is slow but I am getting there and I was months from death just before Christmas, today my husband had this song on in the car and said 'If that man were still alive I would write to him and thank him for saving my wife'. Thank you George, I was always a fan and in the end you helped save me, saved a wife and a mother too

I turned 30 in march and the first album i listened to at the crack of dawn was George's own 'Older'. I've always admired his works throughout my life, but i truly think he is one of the greatest artists the music industry has ever seen. He transcends music like few others can.

One of the coolest George Michael videos ever. A throwback to the 1920's..tastefully done. Kudos to the director, and set designer. George Michael: A remarkable talent and kind human being, who spoke with humility, intelligence and wit. The dancing in this video is nothing short of incredible!! George, for over 30 years, I've been a fan. Thanks for your voice and your philanthropy. Your music will live on..

@@josmartin8980 : Sony USA turned on him..he was totally blacklisted from American radio after his fallout with Sony early 90's. So glad we still had MTV and VH-1 airing his fabulous videos. I was like, "Damn you, Tommy Matolla!" Thank God I could still buy all of George's cd's.. I will always play his music as long as I live.

George Michael had the production game on lock-down with Older. Not to say his other work wasn't slick and well-produced, but Older just sounds so mature and classy. This song in particular is a great gem.
